Story
I get along well with cats, making me an ideal companion for any family with furry friends. - TJ Dogs are usually tested with other dogs their size, and we encourage meet-and-greets with your dog before adoption. Cat tests are available if requested, but they only check for clear aggression. Always be careful when introducing dogs to cats. Advice about dogs living with children is based on behavior like energy level and how the dog handles touch. Young children should never be left alone with dogs, and we cannot guarantee how any dog will behave with kids or other pets. Behavior seen in the shelter is just a snapshot and may change in a home. Dogs come from many backgrounds and may need training, time, and patience. Dogs should not be fed together unless you know they do not guard food. We also suggest learning about a dog's breed or mix to be sure it fits your family. Moving to a new home can be stressful for dogs. Use the Rule of 3 to help them adjust: First 3 days: Dogs may feel scared, tired, overexcited, or not want to eat. First 3 weeks: Dogs start learning routines and may show new behaviors. Keep things calm and avoid busy places. First 3 months: Dogs usually feel settled and more comfortable. Story
Hi , my name is Jimmy and I came in with my brother Furby. Sadly our owner passed away and now we are both looking for a new home. We miss our owner very much , but we are still doing our best here to be good boys. I am house trained and walk well on a leash. I do like to bark sometimes and don't always get along with other male dogs , except for my brother of course. I really love people and spending time with them. May 28, 2026, 5:11 pm

Story
Riley is a gentle soul who has spent far too much of her short life surviving instead of simply being loved. Before coming to the shelter, Riley lived mostly outdoors, fending for herself and learning that the world could be a hard and lonely place. It took months for her to trust a human enough to come close… only to end up in a shelter afterward. Even with every reason to give up on people, Riley still chooses kindness. Little by little, she’s learning that gentle hands can mean comfort, warm beds are safe, and love can stay. Every new introduction is a brave step for this sweet girl, and she’s doing so well. Riley has also discovered how much she enjoys the company of other dogs and absolutely shines in play group, where her playful, happy side finally gets to come out. What Riley needs now is not perfection — just someone patient enough to show her that she never has to survive on her own again. Someone who will celebrate the small victories, cherish her quiet trust, and give her the forever home she’s always deserved. Behind Riley’s cautious eyes is a dog who wants so badly to love and be loved. After everything she’s been through, imagine what it would mean for her to finally know what “home” feels like.
