Story
We advise all adopters to expect the 3-3-3 rule as a general guideline for introducing a pet to the home: 3 days to decompress (will show nervousness, hiding, reduced appetite), 3 weeks to settle into a routine (beginning to explore and showing personality), and 3 months to build trust and feel fully comfortable in their new home. This period may be longer for shy or extremely scared animals.

Story
I'm Neville, a 7-month-old brown Collie-Australian Shepherd mix with a heart full of adventure and a tail that never stops wagging! 🐕 I'm small in size but big on personality — I'm friendly, playful, and smart as a whip, which means I'm always ready for the next exciting challenge. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, making me a fantastic fit for a multi-pet household. I'm still working on my house-training, so I'll do best with patient adopters who are ready to guide me, but with treats and love, I'm a quick learner! ❤️ Come meet me and let's start our adventure together! 🎾

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Raine's mom entrusted him to our care, after realizing her housing issues would be an issue for her dog. Raine headed to Seven Hills Wellness this morning for a rabies shot, and we learned he is talented at getting in and out of a vehicle, adores Chik Fil A, and knew all about getting through doorways with guidance. Vision impaired, with possible hearing loss, he is available for adoption. Best guess as to breed mix: collie/spaniel, 45 pounds, and ten to twelve years old. We will schedule a full exam next week, but for today, our goal was to get him a current rabies shot so he could go to a foster home.   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 24, 2026, 8:50 pm
