Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to Portland for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Copper! Copper is a very sweet, playful guy! He is around 4 years old, and at his last vet visit weighed in at 60 pounds. We think Copper probably has some Australian Shepherd, along with several other breeds including possibly Belgian Shepherd, Greyhound or Carolina dog. Copper is a beautiful and happy boy. He’s lucky to be alive! Copper came to us from the shelter at a time when he was minutes from losing his life because he had an upper respiratory infection. We are so glad he is with us now, and he is in a training program getting ready for his forever home! Copper does well in a crate, he also does well on a leash. Copper would love to be a hiking or running buddy! His foster mom said he is doing well at learning house training. Copper loves to play with his doggy friends especially tug-of-war with the big rope toys and will do wonderful at a daycare or dog park with other active and playful dogs! Interested in becoming a forever home for Copper? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Copper. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Copper the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Danika is a gorgeous girl with fluffy ears that captured our hearts when we saw her in a California shelter needing a rescue program to go to. Danika was found as a stray with two other puppies. She is super loving and such a fun girl! - Approximate date of birth is 1/19/26 - Weighed 17 pounds on 5/16/26. We think Danika will likely top out around 55 pounds or so. We cannot guarantee size at maturity but try to give a best estimate. - Best breed mix guess: German Shepherd/Collie mix - Fostered with other dogs large and small and does well with them - Fostered with a cat and overall does well but can be too playful and chase at times. We would consider Danika cat workable. But she does show a slightly higher level of chase drive so she may do best in a home without kitties. - Doing well with leash walking skills - Active, playful girl who would love to have a human to adventure with and engage her. She is a smart cookie and is a sponge for training. Due to her possible breed mix, she will thrive with someone willing to keep her mind engaged and her body exercised. She does settle well in the home and can relax. - Doing well with crate training - Very social and friendly with people Danika has had 3 puppy vaccines, rabies, Bordetella, is microchipped, negative on her heartworm test, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee includes her spay surgery between 7-12 months of age at our partner veterinary clinic. It also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland. $450 adoption fee Fostered in Sandy, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT DANIKA ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
