Story
Meet sweet 9 month old Fae! Fae was rescued at a young age from a home that did not allow dogs inside and was tied up on the front porch with no heat source in the winter. She has now been spoiled, loved and socialized with other dogs and cats, taken on many trail hikes and to public events. She has completed Petco‘s beginner and advanced good behavior courses, is fully potty trained and does well on a leash. She is fully vaccinated and micro chipped but not yet spayed. She is very affectionate and playful with plenty of puppy energy and will play fetch for hours if you let her! She loves to go to the dog park or any park where she can run off leash and loves to ride in the car. Fae does tend to be a needy girl in that she wants to be with her person all the time. She does have some separation anxiety and will seek things to destroy if not monitored closely! She is not kennel trained and I don’t believe she would do well in a kennel all day as she really wants to be active and play.

Story
We are Herman’s second family. His first owner was elderly and became ill, so could no longer care for him. We have had him for about three years but my husband was recently diagnosed with AML and will need a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately we will need to rehome Herman for my husband’s health and safety. He is an extremely intelligent and loving dog. He is a barker. On walks, he will bark at other dogs but we have found that crossing the street, getting him to sit and wait while talking to and petting his head helps to calm him down. Then he continues his walk just fine. We have two teenagers and one other dog (a lab) in the house that he does really well with. He also warms up to new people in the home quickly. To my knowledge he has not been around young children or cats, so not sure how he would do. He does not play with toys but loves chewing on his bones. He is crate trained, but just hasn’t used one in a couple of years.

Story
Meet Alfie!Alfie is a sweet, smart, and affectionate 1-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix looking for the right forever home. He loves being with his people, enjoys outdoor adventures, and is just as happy relaxing at home after a day of activity. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. As a young working-breed mix, he’ll thrive with an active owner who enjoys training, hiking, or other adventures. We’re rehoming Alfie because he has shown resource-guarding behaviors around young children. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but our priority is finding the environment where he can be successful. He would do best in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens.Alfie is loyal, eager to learn, and has so much love to give. We love Alfie deeply and are committed to finding the right match. If you think you might be that person, we’d love to hear from you.

Story
Meet Nani! Nani is a beautiful German Shepherd Border Collie mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She absolutely adores people and is the kind of dog who will happily soak up all the attention, affection, and belly rubs you’re willing to give. Her sweet nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loyal and loving best friend.Nani is also a playful, energetic girl who enjoys being active and having fun. One of her favorite games is being chased by her dog friends around the yard—she’ll zoom around happily and keep the party going! When the roles reverse and she’s the one doing the chasing, her Border Collie side shines through. She stalks and chases on overdrive. Her ideal dog companion would be an active male dog who doesn’t mind letting Nani take the lead. She enjoys being the boss and thrives with dogs who are happy to follow her cue during playtime.Because of her strong prey drive, Nani cannot live in a home with cats.Overall, Nani is a loving, lively, and intelligent dog who will make an amazing companion for an active home that can give her plenty of play, structure, and affection. If you’re looking for a sweet, spirited dog who will bring joy, energy, and loyalty to your life, Nani might be your perfect match. Come meet Nani and see if she’s the missing piece to your family! What her adoption fee covers:✅ Spay✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Nani? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJuly 21, 2026, 6:37 am

Molly is a bright, energetic Lab/Border Collie mix with a goofy streak that will keep you smiling every day! This playful girl is always ready for her next adventure—whether it’s a game of fetch, a long walk, or just zooming around the yard showing off her silly side. She thrives on activity and would love a home that can keep up with her fun-loving energy. Because of her enthusiasm, Molly would do best with older kids who can match her playful spirit. She absolutely loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to wrestle and romp with. However, Molly has a strong chase instinct and will chase cats, so a feline-free home is a must.Molly is looking for an active family who will embrace both her energetic nature and her goofy personality. Story
Jasper is marvelous but he is not happy in my household. He cannot be a left alone with a cat even though he gets along with him fine normally and will even snuggle with him. If he is stressed or experiencing separation anxiety he will kill them. He has started snapping at them over food and getting increasingly stressed and I don't know why. He loves his crate and loves to go for drives and camping. He is an incredible cuddle dog and professional charmer! He does not have to have a home and I won't accept him just going away and never seeing him again. That would be cruel to him, I would like to have somebody willing to take the time to go take him to the doggie Park and take him for a walk and play with him and let him get to know them a bit before he goes home with them and then allow us to visit occasionally so he doesn't feel left.
