Story
Meet Lola, a three-year-old Red Heeler/Cattle Dog mix weighing 36 pounds.Lola is a very sweet girl with a gentle personality and an eagerness to please. At a wonderful medium size, she`s big enough to join you on adventures but compact enough to fit comfortably into many different lifestyles.Lola enjoys her walks and does well on a leash, making her a great companion for daily outings. The people who found her reported that she got along well with their dog, suggesting she may enjoy a canine friend in her future home. However, Lola would do best in a home without cats.Lola does have a slight limp in one of her back legs, which may be the result of an old injury that has healed. She doesn`t let it dampen her spirits, and we will have her evaluated by our veterinarian before adoption so her new family has the most up-to-date information about her health.Based on her appearance and personality, Lola may have some Australian Cattle Dog in her. Cattle Dogs are known for being intelligent, loyal, and devoted companions who enjoy having a job to do and being involved in family activities. They are eager learners who often form strong bonds with their people, and Lola certainly seems to share that desire to connect and please.Lola is ready to leave her past behind and find a loving forever home. If you`re looking for a sweet, smart companion with a kind heart and plenty of potential, Lola may be the perfect match for you. This pet is available for adoption on 6/25/2026 1:51 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Lux, a six-year-old Border Collie mix weighing 83 pounds.Lux is a handsome Border Collie mix with a gentle soul, unique mismatched eyes, and a heart full of love to share. This sweet boy came to us needing a little extra care. Lux is currently overweight, and helping him safely lose weight will be an important part of giving him a healthier, happier life. A more comfortable weight will help him enjoy walks, playtime, and all the adventures that come with being a dog.Lux also has a beautiful long coat that will need regular brushing and grooming to keep it healthy and prevent painful matting from returning. His future family should be prepared to keep up with his coat care so he can stay comfortable and looking his best.Despite the changes he`s been through, Lux is a very sweet and gentle dog. He can be a little unsure at first and has a submissive personality, but once he starts feeling comfortable, his affectionate side comes out. He loves to snuggle, will gently nudge you with his nose for attention, and enjoys being close to his people.Border Collies are known for being intelligent, loyal, and active dogs who thrive when they have both mental and physical enrichment. Lux will benefit from a family who can help him build confidence, maintain a healthy routine, and provide the love and structure he needs to thrive. If you`re looking for a gentle companion with soulful eyes, a sweet personality, and a little extra love to give, Lux may be the perfect match. He`s ready for a fresh start and a family who will help him become the happiest, healthiest version of himself. This pet is available for adoption on 7/3/2026 10:43 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
