Story
Meet Blue: Professional Sniffologist, Water Enthusiast, and Full-Time Best Friend 🐾If you've ever thought, "You know what my life is missing? A sweet, soulful hound with a heart of gold and a nose that could probably solve mysteries," then Blue would like a word.Blue is the kind of dog who makes friends wherever he goes. People? Love them. Dogs? Big fan. Cats? He's lived with them before and did just fine. This handsome coonhound mix approaches life with a wagging tail, a gentle spirit, and a face that always seems to be smiling. One of Blue's greatest talents is being wherever his people are. Yard work? He's supervising. Hiking adventure? Count him in. Swim at the lake? Already halfway in the water. Quiet afternoon while you work? Blue will happily settle nearby and keep you company with his soulful hound eyes.Speaking of talents, this boy has brains to match his good looks. He already knows sit, stay, come, and down, and he's incredibly cooperative and eager to learn. He's currently polishing up his loose-leash walking and heel work, and with a few treats and some encouragement, he's more than happy to show off what he knows.Like any true coonhound, Blue experiences the world through his nose. A walk with Blue isn't just a walk - it's a full sensory investigation. Scent games, tracking activities, enrichment puzzles, and opportunities to sniff are basically his version of winning the lottery. 👃Blue can sometimes feel a little anxious when life gets overwhelming, but he's a thoughtful guy who settles nicely with support and routine. He's also remarkably gentle in how he handles conflict. If another dog is being rude or things get a little chaotic, Blue's strategy is simple: "No thank you," and he quietly removes himself from the situation. Honestly? A life skill many humans could learn from.Because Blue is a coonhound mix, his future family should have an understanding of hound traits and be excited to embrace them. That means following his nose, giving him plenty of mental enrichment, and appreciating that sometimes there's an interesting smell that simply must be investigated immediately.Blue isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for people to love, adventures to share, water to splash in, and a family who will appreciate the wonderful, goofy, affectionate dog he is.And trust us - once you know Blue, it's pretty hard not to love him. 💙https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Blue, neutered male, 6 years, Coonhound X, ID# 626530 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Cinnamon Weight: 46.2 Age: 6yrs 0mths 0wks

***Dog meetings, viewings, and adoptions are by appointment only. This approach helps ensure every interaction is safe, calm, and positive for both the dogs and visitors.Appointments are available seven days a week.Meet Archie 🐾Archie is a handsome 1-year-old Coonhound with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life! This loving, cuddly boy is bursting with energy, curiosity and affection. He is a very intelligent boy who learns quickly especially when treats are involved.🌲🐕Like many young dogs, Archie is still learning about the world and he can become overwhelmed and react to stimuli such as other dogs, vehicles and cyclists. He will do best in a patient, calm and structured home with predictable routines who will train him using positive reinforcement techniques. This will help him to build the confidence and good habits that will help him to thrive. With consistency, plenty of physical and mental exercise, and lots of positive guidance, he has all the potential to grow into an amazing and loyal companion. Archie does react to other dogs and would likely do best as the only pet. Archie gets car sick and can become stressed on car rides. He has responded really well to taking medication for any vehicle journeys and may continue to require travel medication into adulthood. Archie LOVES affection and has completely stolen the hearts of the staff at the shelter and his snuggle sessions have been a joy for everyone at the shelter team. If you're looking for an adventurous, spirited dog who's ready to learn and grow with you, Archie might be your perfect match! 🐶✨Think you could be Archie's person? Good with dogs,
Story
Hi… I’m Atta 🐾I’m 10 months old, a Jindo × Hound mix girl, and about 10kg of pure love and wiggles. When I was just 3 months old, I was placed on the euthanasia list at a shelter in Gwangju. I was still such a tiny puppy. Thankfully, kind people rescued me, and I spent two whole months in a foster home learning something very special — what it feels like to be loved, to live in a house, and to trust human hands. Now I’m safe, and I’m waiting for you — my forever family. My name, “Atta,” kind of sounds bright and cheerful… and that’s exactly who I am! I really love people. I love being near you, leaning into you, looking up at you, and giving you all my affection. I’m the kind of dog who will make you smile without even trying. When it’s playtime, I’m energetic and a little silly. I love to move, explore, and have fun! But inside the house, I’m actually very good at settling down. I can rest calmly and just enjoy being quietly by your side. I don’t always need excitement — sometimes I just want to share space with you.I’m gentle and friendly with people of all ages, and I can be soft and sweet with children too. I also get along well with other dogs — I have good manners and enjoy having canine friends.I’ve learned indoor potty training, though if I move to a new environment, I might make a small mistake at first. I’m still just a young puppy, after all. If you guide me patiently and lovingly, I promise I’ll learn quickly and try my very best to make you proud.I’m still growing — not just in size, but in heart and experience. I’m ready to go on walks with you, learn new things with you, and build a life together step by step. All I need is someone who will love me, be patient with me, and promise that I’ll never have to wonder where I belong again. If you give me your heart, I’ll give you mine for the rest of my life. Will you be my forever family? 🐶💕
