My name is Marty Mcfly and I am a hound dog! I was rescued from a hound transport collaboration through Operation Helping Hounds. I am from back east, so I talk with a little bit of an accent when I bark. I get along with other dogs really well, and would do best in a home with another confident dog. I am learning to walk well on a leash and I would do best in an active household who is willing to give me the structure, consistency and love that I so deserve. I am currently in training, so I can be the best dog ever for you! I love other dogs, and playing is one of my favorite past times. i am already making leaps and bounds!! Jericho is a handsome coonhound that came to us from Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter. He's about 3 years old and still has some puppy energy. A lovely, good natured dog, rescued as a stray from the streets of the Inland Empire. No collar, No ID, No microchip and NO owner searching for her. She has since been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She gets along we'll with other dogs, is playful, sociable and enjoys the company of humans. The best match will be selected and contacted to confirm an appointment at Petsmart in Yorba Linda on Saturday between noon and 3 pm or on a mutually agreeable day, time and place. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. The adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, core vaccinations including rabies and 4 sets of distemper/parvo and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. The adoption fee for a puppy is generally $495 - $525. Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. JAX IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL SENIOR DOG WHO WANTS TO SLEEP ALL DAY. In fact, Jax is active and playful and would like to spend some more time behaving like a puppy more so than an older dog. Of course, he is 10 years old, though and needs the care of an older dog, and he will slow down eventually. But right now Jax is not your sleep all day and no play dog.; He is a big doggy and is strong. He has a strong pull on the leash at current, but he is being trained daily. Read more about Jax: Jax is an awesome and beautiful, very active Redtick Coonhound. You'd never guess that Jax is 10 years old by the energetic way he walks and his melodious voice. Jax loves to be with people and he gets excited when he sees his person in the morning and when he knows it is walk time. Jax used to live with 4 small, dominating dogs and so he gets along with other dogs. He wants to chase cats, so we do not think he'd be good for cats. Jax is a tame, fun dog who must be given up by his senior owner due to the owner's increasing challenges with his own age and the ability to care for Jax. Jax would be great for a person or family who enjoys walks and would spend time with him. Jax is better suited for a house with a yard. He's an energetic and adorable fellow! Laney was born 6-30-12 and is a black and tan hound. He certainly has the hound bay! This boy is a climber and a jumper, but don't let that scare you. For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions.  All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and  fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.   Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees for adults start at $150 and usually go up to $750. Young adults that are high in demand may be a little over $750.00. For puppies and purebreds, we charge up to $1000. The lower end is for dogs who have been here a while. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible.
