Story
Between the staff and volunteers, Boston has a growing fan base at PAWS Atlanta. This guys is smooth like butter on a hot bun. Boston came to PAWS with his sweet sister Harley, after their longtime owner became seriously ill. They've been easy, grateful guests and would love to stay together, if at all possible. Boston is good with other dogs, excited to see you, even if you're just coming back from grabbing a snack in the kitchen. Doesn't matter! The thrill is real for Boston, and he feels all the feels deeply. He's good on leash, mildly active (about a 4/10) and loves people and other dogs. We don't know about cats. Boston would thrive in a home with someone who can help him get a little more active and continue to drop a few pounds to get to a healthier, less plushy weight. Boston and Harley would make a perfect duo for someone looking for easygoing dogs who are already bonded and comfortable together and with people. If you'd like to meet Boston, please complete an adoption application, and we will get you set up to come visit with him.

Story
Howl-looooooo, my name is Ellie May,I was surrendered to the shelter by my previous owners due to my hound dog tendencies... I smell somethin and go for it! This seemed to be too much for my family, so I had my second chance here. However I am ready and a shoe-in to be your best, silliest girl! I will not get any bigger and will remain what is called a "large breed dog"." Adopting a big ole hound like me requires someone with patience and some experience in pups with powerful noses like me. I love going on walks, there are so many fun and new smells! I love being out in the play yard with my care team as well- they have the best treats! If you want to silly hound like me in your life, come meet me today! I just kindly ask that prospective puppy siblings meet me before I come home, thanks! See you soon!!Weight: 54lbs Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 53.4 Age: 4yrs 1mths 2wks

Story
Dot is a 3.5 year old Coonhound mix. This sweet and beautiful girl came to us with another dog, Atta, who has recently been adopted. Dot is very friendly but can come across as shy when she first meets you. She is much cuter than this photo can show; Dot proved to be pretty camera shy on picture day! Dot loves to be outside but she can climb a fence and does not need to be left unsupervised. While Dot did come in with another dog, a meet-n-greet is always suggested. Dot enjoys squeaky toys and walks pretty well on a leash, though she could use some work. Dot is tall but lean, weighing right at 50 lbs. We believe this is a pretty good size for her and her breed's body style, but a few extra pounds of love wouldn't hurt her! She is very much like a coondog and we would suggest her to a family with some knowledge on the breed. We do not suggest Dot with small animals because she does have a decently high prey drive.  The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.March 27, 2024, 2:19 am
