Story
Sometimes rescue dogs can surprise you. The surprises can be good ones (eg. funny habits), or they could be not as good (eg. I thought he was past that chewing stage!). You know what the only surprise is about Benetton? It's that he is still looking for his forever family, as someone is sure missing out on one amazing pup!!!
This guy is the bomb! About a year old, this redbone coonhound is as beautiful on the outside as he is on the inside. The sweetest dog, he quickly transitioned from a shy stray who may not have had a lot of human contact into this loving, funny, playful boy who just adores his people, wants to be near them, and has grown really comfortable in his new foster home environment. He does well on a leash and loves to go for walks. He will still get a little distracted, especially when those dratted squirrels catch his eye. He does well in his crate - in fact, it's his peaceful little spot that he wanders into and out of with the door left open as a comfy place to just hang out. He's had to learn his outdoor potty manners, but has made amazing progress as his routine has become established. He's just a youngster, and is smart as a whip, learns and responds well to direction, and wants to please and be a good boy.
When Benny is around, it just makes you want to smile. He's a happy, happy boy and loves playing outside. He's curious as he wanders around the yard, checking things out. He then comes flying toward you when he hears "Come here, Benny!" as that's the signal that it's time to be with his people again. He loves to get pets, and if you rub his head and nose between his eyes, he just closes them as if he has fallen asleep. He loves to snuggle for a few minutes when he first wakes up in the morning, before heading outside to start another great day. You see, every day is great with Benny - both for Benny and for the people around him.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
