When Chester came to Paws he was very thin. Even worse, he was full of parasites both internally and covered in fleas & ticks. Even though he's had a rocky start to life, Chester is a pretty chill puppy. He rides great in the car... mostly because he sleeps the whole time. Lol. He absolutely LIGHTS UP when other dogs are around. Chester loves playing with other dogs, his toys and always seems to have something in his mouth. He's also great with cats and kids (although he does like to try to play tug of war with long hair). Chester has already learned what the word no means and is working on his potty training. Gunnar is very loving, gentle, and playful. He enjoys romping around the yard with his siblings and is ready for a family of his own. He is a little timid at first, but very sweet and will melt into you for pets and cuddles. We anticipate that he'll be around 50-55lbs fully grown. Gunnar is crate trained and working on house training. Gunnar is one of 9 hound mix puppies that were not being fed by the owners. They agreed to surrender them to us so we could see they were fed and taken care of properly. Now that he is almost a year old, the old life has been forgotten and all he knows is love. Despite his young age, Gunnar has moments of chill when he will just crawl in his crate and nap. He is well acquainted with a schedule and follows it mostly without being asked. Like any pup, he has plenty of energy and loves to play with several dogs at once, running and chasing. Gunnar is also very loving, giving face-bathing kisses until you start laughing and push him away. The ideal home for Gunnar would be someone who will spend time to train him. He is extremely smart and knows sit, leave it and off. Still, counter surfing is his favorite offense. It's hard to be upset or give a stern face when he is wagging and bouncing around in happiness. His forever home should have at least one dog friend about his age and size, also an owner who is mostly at home. He is too active to be confined for hours on end. Outdoor adventures are right up his alley. He loves being where his people are and will check-in every few minutes just to make sure they are still present.
