Story
Roscoe is a very striking, handsome, dapper hound. He loves to play with his brother, sister and foster siblings. He tries to be as brave as possible but always approaches new situations with a lot of caution. Roscoe loves exploring the outdoors. He is a sweet, often goofy, athletic hound. His markings are very distinctive including bright "pumpkins seeds" above his sparkling eyes and absolutely adorable freckles. Roscoe is good with other dogs of all ages & sizes and has been introduced to cats but at a distance. He loves puppies! Kid testing has been very limited due to the pandemic.  Roscoe was born to a stray Mom in a dilapidated abandoned shack.  Completely feral and terrified of humans the Mom could and would not be caught. It was a freezing cold rainy January day when we first saw her litter of 14 huddled together in the corner of the abandoned house with no windows or doors. Too young to take, all we could do was leave food for the Mom each day hoping she would not leave or move her puppies. But she did move them numerous times. Sadly we continued to find dead puppies until one day they all disappeared. At age 4.5 months we were notified that 5 puppies were eating at the abandoned house. We recognized them by their markings and age. These pups were also feral by this time. But we could not leave them to live their lives as strays in a rural county with no animal control or shelter. Were they would likely be shot, poisoned or trapped to be used as bait dog's.  Three of Roscoe's siblings have been adopted and are absolutely wonderful pets. Roscoe and his brother Deputy are still being fostered.  Roscoe will require a very patient adopter or foster  home that is experienced with fearful dogs. His foster home currently has a lot of dogs, including a medical foster. They are managing so many personalities and dynamics they cannot give him the one on one attention he desperately needs. He absolutely requires a fenced yard. Perhaps with another dog that loves to be outside. A family that will give him time and space to adjust. Dirt Road Doggie’s Rescue will provide everything he needs and our full support as he transitions to new surroundings. He will be challenging. But like his siblings, once the barrier is lifted you will have an amazing, special boy to love. Roscoe has a precious tender heart and sweet, gentle soul. He is very special.  Roscoe is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative. Crate trained, a bit stubborn on a leash but we are working on that.  He is lovingly fostered in Rutledge GA. https://awo.petstablished.com/pets/public/816346 ##816346##

Story
Howl-looooooo, my name is Ellie May,I was surrendered to the shelter by my previous owners due to my hound dog tendencies... I smell somethin and go for it! This seemed to be too much for my family, so I had my second chance here. However I am ready and a shoe-in to be your best, silliest girl! I will not get any bigger and will remain what is called a "large breed dog"." Adopting a big ole hound like me requires someone with patience and some experience in pups with powerful noses like me. I love going on walks, there are so many fun and new smells! I love being out in the play yard with my care team as well- they have the best treats! If you want to silly hound like me in your life, come meet me today! I just kindly ask that prospective puppy siblings meet me before I come home, thanks! See you soon!!Weight: 54lbs Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 53.4 Age: 4yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Between the staff and volunteers, Boston has a growing fan base at PAWS Atlanta. This guys is smooth like butter on a hot bun. Boston came to PAWS with his sweet sister Harley, after their longtime owner became seriously ill. They've been easy, grateful guests and would love to stay together, if at all possible. Boston is good with other dogs, excited to see you, even if you're just coming back from grabbing a snack in the kitchen. Doesn't matter! The thrill is real for Boston, and he feels all the feels deeply. He's good on leash, mildly active (about a 4/10) and loves people and other dogs. We don't know about cats. Boston would thrive in a home with someone who can help him get a little more active and continue to drop a few pounds to get to a healthier, less plushy weight. Boston and Harley would make a perfect duo for someone looking for easygoing dogs who are already bonded and comfortable together and with people. If you'd like to meet Boston, please complete an adoption application, and we will get you set up to come visit with him.

Story
We are sad to say we need to find a new and loving home for our 1 1/2 yr old pup Rocky. Several months ago, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. We can no longer give Rocky the attention, exercise and training he deserves. Rocky needs a home where he can run & play and be loved. He has been neutered and he is crate trained. He’s a sweet dog and is great with other dogs and loves people. He would make a loyal and loving companion. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Kim at (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Story
Gunnar is a handsome dude with a happy-go-lucky attitude. Almost 2 years old, Gunnar is a gentle soul who is very loving and will give face-bathing kisses until you start laughing and push him away. While a bit shy at first with new people, he'll be sure to melt your heart with a bit of patience and even demands hugs from his foster parents throughout the day. While he loves having a chasing party with his friends and playing with toys, he also equally enjoys cuddling up for a nap and prefers to spend his downtime indoors. Gunnar really thrives with a routine and once he gets the hang of it, will follow without being asked. The ideal home for Gunnar would include at least one canine sibling and a family who will take the time to train him. He is extremely smart and knows sit, leave it and off. Still, counter surfing is his favorite offense, but it's hard to be upset or give a stern face when he is wagging and bouncing around in happiness. Gunnar is around 55lbs, neutered, current on vaccines, and microchipped. If you have room in your home and heart for a sweet boy like Gunnar, please submit an application at WetNosesAnimalRescue.org.
