DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Frank is 4.5yo, weighs 92lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  "Frank is the most incredible dog I could have ever asked for, when it is just him and I.  He is fun, goofy, loving, and playful.  But, he is very weary of strangers.  He warms up to people, through proper introduction, but he does have behavioral issues.  I am currently working with a trainer to help Frank as much as possible with a transition to a new home.  Frank knows basic obedience, such as 'sit', 'stay', 'paw', 'come', and 'place'. Frank's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  "My girlfriend and her 11yo daughter are moving in.  Frank has done extensive training, but we do not fully trust him around such a high energy child.  Frank does really well outside of my home, but has gotten protective since only living with me the past 2 years." BITE INCIDENT:  On 20 October 2022, Frank bit his guardian's girlfriend's hand; the bite broke the skin, animal control was not involved, and only home first aid was administered, as it was not a major injury.  Frank's guardian explains:    "Typically when anyone comes to my house, I have Frank in the back yard or on command, like "place", away from the door.  This day, my girlfriend walked into the house unexpected and I was on the phone in the other room.  Frank greeted her at the door and let her give him affection.  She was petting him when I came into the room.  Frank looked at me, then looked at her, and then bit her hand.  It did puncture the skin, but he let go immediately.  He went to cower in the corner because he knew he had done something wrong." Frank's guardian offers a brief medical history: "Frank is on medications.  Apoquel for his allergies, and Prozac and Trazodone for his anxiety." Frank's guardian states the following regarding children:  Frank hasn't lived with children, but his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Frank has had limited experience with children outside of the home.  He has barked in the past, but he has also let them give him scratches."   Frank's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Frank hasn't lived with dogs, but his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "Frank is leash reactive when he sees another dog.  However, he seems to do fine with them outside of the house, so long as the other dog does not get aggressive." Frank's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Frank hasn't lived with or otherwise been around cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Frank's guardian describes him as: Very active Couch potato Quiet Playful Shy Affectionate Fearful Always at your side Indoor dog Outdoor dog Nervous Separation anxiety Frank's guardian describes his ideal future home: "The ideal home for Frank would have alot of property or a big fenced yard where he could play and chase squirrels.  He would be able to just be a dog, have fun, and go on lots of walks.  Sadly, I do not know if he would do well around children or pets, but I have seen him do well outside of my home.  I just want Frank to have a loving home, wherever that may be.  He can be alot of work at times, because of his past, but he has been my best friend and it has been so worth it.  This has been the toughest thing I have ever had to go through.  I just want him to be safe and happy." Our Adoption Radius is a maximum of 60 miles from zip code 20906 Bel Air MD - Have you seen anything more beautiful than a tripod! Lettie is 2 years old and comes with a story of triumph despite sad beginnings. She was left in a broken down car along with three other dogs. Yep just like that. Never reclaimed and were being fed by Good Samaritans. She was hit by a car and lost her front leg, but rest assured that doesn’t affect her quality of life, nor her amazing spirit. She's about 40lbs. Lettie is dog, cat and child friendly. She does fine in a crate but doesn’t really need one cause she’s not destructive. She’s fully vaccinated and spayed, HW- If you’re interested in adopting this beauty, let us know by reaching out through Tascas.Love@gmail.com

Story
Meet Lil' Miss Heinz 57! Actually, her name is Opal but this 4-month-old girl's DNA came back with everything except the kitchen sink! She is the epitome of an All-American Mutt. Opal is an energetic gal who gives 110% to everything - she plays hard, naps hard and gives her whole heart to her people. She is one lucky pup, as her foster mom is also a dog trainer, so she has been eagerly working on perfecting her basic commands and more. She is treat-motivated, which makes for fairly easy training. Opal's ideal family will be active and preferably have another playful dog for her to romp with. She is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed at the age of 6 months. This dog's adoption fee is $400. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training - no exceptions! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months. Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
Emmie Lou is a 7 year old black & tan coonhound. She weighs around 65 pounds, is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and is on prevention. This girl is full of personality. She is very affectionate and loves attention and to snuggle. Don’t let her age fool you. Emmie Lou is still an active girl that can still tree a coon a lives for her walks. This girl has no trouble walking 6 miles and could keep going. She will help keep you in shape and active since she will sit by the door if you forget her walk. If you need a walking buddy Emmie Lou is your girl. Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
