Story
Annie is a 7 year old coonhound who was originally adopted in 2022. Due to a move and change in the family's situation, Annie needs a new home. Annie is a very sweet dog who loves her people and loves her tennis ball almost as much. She has done well living with other dogs these last couple of years but would also be fine as an only pet or with one companion. She eagerly meets new friends at the dog park and gets along with males and females. Annie is crate-trained and loves to curl up in a ball on her bed but she would prefer to sleep with her humans if permitted. Annie is a high-energy dog and requires daily exercise. She will tirelessly play fetch and loves doing so as much as she likes her walks in the park. She would be a great running companion. Annie is vocal when she anticipates an outing or when playing ball. Annie would love a home where her owner(s) can be be with her much of the time and someone can meet her energy needs If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. Meet Blue! he is a handsome 2½-year-old Coonhound/Doberman mix with the most stunning blue eyes you've ever seen! His soulful gaze is just the beginning of what makes him so special.  He came to rescue after his previous family made the difficult decision to surrender him because they simply didn't have the time to give him the life he deserved. Since then, he's completed a professional board-and-train program and has blossomed into a wonderful companion. He's a little shy when meeting new people, but once he realizes you're a friend, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. He does great with people but at 70lbs would be best with older children. He loves other dogs, and would enjoy having a canine buddy—or being your one-and-only best friend. Like many dogs adjusting to a new home, he experiences a bit of separation anxiety at first, but once he settles into a routine, he does very well. He's looking for a family that will give him the consistency and love he needs to feel secure. If you enjoy the outdoors, he's ready to be your adventure partner! And if you have dog experience, thats a big plus!  Whether it's walks through the neighborhood or hiking your favorite trails, he's happiest exploring the world by your side. After a day of fun, he's more than happy to trade the trail for the couch and curl up with you for the evening. One thing you should know—he has absolutely no idea how big he is! In his mind, he's still a tiny puppy and will happily climb into your lap for cuddles. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate dog with a goofy side, beautiful blue eyes, and a heart full of love, this sweet boy could be the perfect addition to your family.   All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only. July 21, 2026, 8:43 pm
