I even overheard my human brother say “Janet is a keeper!” That made my heart so happy. I love love love being with my family. They do spoil me though. I get to sleep in the big bed with them and I am the best sleeper! I sleep all night like a good girl. I am used to the kennel while they’re at work but lately they’ve even started letting me have free roam while they are at work. My mom says I am doing wonderful. I just sleep or chew my toys while they are at work. I’ve never once have gotten into anything! I love my walks!! I go on 2 walks a day. My family says that I need to get better while walking because I am so strong. I was a stray when I was little, never lived in a home, so I just need more time to work on this. I would love a fence because I love to run around and sniff all the squirrels and rabbits but it's not a necessity.Let's meet soon. After a good play session, he’s happy to curl up beside you and just be close. He very interested in our dogs and wants to play with everyone he meets - no fear, no hesitation. He’s curious about cats, though his puppy energy can be a little much for them right now. He settles in his kennel with only a little barking that doesn’t last long, and he already responds well to “let’s go inside” and “let’s go outside.” Maverick is very food motivated, which makes training rewarding. He will need another dog in the house as that makes him more comfortable. He will need a patient family to get him fully out of his shell. He is not mean, just more scared of new places and people. He likes treats and to play with another dog. He knows how to use a dog door and his name. He is ready to go but again, will need a patient family to work with his wariness.

He is a sweet boy but will need some patience on him getting to trust. Another dog in the house is a must, he feels a lot more comfortable if there's another pup around. He has the hound howl and good natured attitude (he can be snippy with treats). He can be held but is not a cuddler but may become one with a family. He is a great little pup who will need puppy training but does know how to use a dog door. He is now ready for a forever home with a family who will work on his hesitancy.
