Born: August 09, 2020 I am 78lbs and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $400 Hey there, dog lovers! Let me introduce you to Rovi, the big, loveable coonhound with a quirky bark. This guy is a talker! Rovi is a gentle giant who warms up very quickly. Rovi exudes friendliness, playfulness, and curiosity. He adores the company of his humans and relishes trips to the dog park. Rovi behaves well during baths and when meeting strangers, showcasing his good nature. Moreover, he is adept at house training. This dog is looking for a loving home where he can feel safe and loved. Once he gets to know you, he'll shower you with love and affection. Rovi's heart is as big as his howls.   All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. An application is required to view our adoptable pets. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We adopted this sweet boy in August 2018 when he was just three months old. Chip was great with my two small children. He quickly won over our hearts with his sweetness, cleverness and his endless desire to share his toys. When we decided to adopt another dog in Aug. 2021, he adjusted to his new brother just fine. His brother was 3 months old and a pitbull terrier mix. But as his brother grew bigger, Chip’s behavior changed. Chip did not like to share his toys or treats, and displayed signs of dominance and aggression towards his brother that would oftentimes result in fights. On top of that, there was a major change in our household when I split from my partner last year, and this exacerbated the divisiveness between his fur brother. In my kids’ best interest, it is with a heavy heart to have to try to find a new home for Chip, as we feel he would thrive best as a sole dog where he can truly display his fierce loyalty and lovability for years to come. ❤️

Katie is a member of our Have a Heart program. She has started heartworm treatments and has been living in the Rescue House at Big Barn for the last few days. She's doing real well living in a home. Now that she's started treatments, bed rest is the name of the game for Katie. She's fine with the resident senior dog and cat and doesn't try to engage in play. She knows that potty is outside! She does not like the crate and we felt she was more stressed in there than out, she has earned free range. She's super easy to care for and never gets destructive when alone and does not have exhibit separation anxiety. If you're looking for a couch potato to watch tv with or a porch buddy to enjoy the warm weather, Katie is your gal. Heartworm is a treatable disease and we are with you 100% of the way until Katie tests negative. ALIVE and our supporters pay for all the treatments.

Kee-wee, her mom and 7 littermates were left outside a shelter when they were not open. They were still nursing and not yet weaned. With some initial coughing and sneezing when they arrived to ALIVE Rescue, all the pups are now healthy and will be ready to head to their forever homes toward the end of March. The family are Coonhound mixes and mama is about 45 pounds. As we learn more about Kee-wee's personality, we'll provide updates. What we know now; she is a healthy, happy, playful puppy who will need a forever home with a dog who can show her how to dog. If no current dog, then a plan for doggie socializing will be important.
