Story
Hello Tessy is 14yrs old. She was a rescue dog from Boise ID. My grandma took her in from a resume shelter after being abused my her fist owner who gave her a scare around her neck by always keeping her locked up & rubberbands on her neck. My grandmother moved in with me & my mom. As my grandma got older my mom took care of her mainly the last 8 years or so. Sadly my mom passed away in January so we would love to find her a new home. She overall is a great dog just older still loves her walks & loves to eat haha. She will let you know when she has to go outside to pee or poop. Does not bark much these days. Overall she is great & just needs a loving home for the few years she has left. Thank you & god bless

Story
Puppies don't come any cuter than Brooklyn! Brooklyn is estimated to be around 4 months old, and she is a fun girl who loves to play and explore. She is the largest of the group and has an affectionate and reserved personality. She is a smart and adventurous puppy who would love an active family to call her own. Brooklyn weighs about 19lbs and we estimate that she will be at least 40-50lbs when fully grown. Brooklyn and her siblings came to us from our local animal shelter after they were found dumped in rural Yolo County. There were originally 7 puppies, and Brooklyn is one of the last three to find her fur-ever family. These puppies are looking for individual homes so that they can get the one-on-one training and socialization they need to thrive as adults. Brooklyn is the quiet sweetheart. While she is the biggest of the puppies, she is also the most reserved and gentle. She loves meeting new people and is eager to make new friends. She also loves playtime, and her favorite pastime is wrestling with her siblings. She is such a sweet girl who thrives on positive reinforcement and is happy to curl up in your lap for cuddles. She is eager to learn, especially if food is involved, and has already mastered some of her basic manners. She needs a family committed to continuing her training to help her grow up to be the best girl she can be.  Brooklyn has done well living with an active small dog and an elderly small dog. We think she would benefit from a confident and playful doggie sibling to help mentor her. We haven't seen Brooklyn around cats, but with a slow introduction, she could do well living with dog-savvy cats. Brooklyn has done great meeting kids and could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Brooklyn has been doing great with her housetraining using a dog door. In a new environment and a new routine, she will have some accidents, but should pick up things quickly with consistency and being rewarded for pottying outside. Brooklyn has never been alone since she is always with her siblings, so she would do best with a family that can slowly acclimate her to being alone.  Brooklyn is such a darling girl who is going to bring so much happiness to her new family. If you think that could be you, submit an application today!   Brooklyn's adoption fee is $450.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. March 16, 2026, 12:41 am
