Coru is an amazing girl. To say the least, she is a survivor with the biggest heart. She is gentle and loving. Poor girl has been through a tough life. However, it doesn’t stop her from loving and trusting humans. Coru is now in a foster home with other dogs and is good with big and small dogs. She is doing well in her foster home and ready for her forever home. Coru started some leash training and is learning at a good pace. She is crate trained and doing well on her house training. She rides well in the car and can wait patiently while her foster mom runs errands. Coru is a wonderful girl and deserves a loving forever home. Coru’s Rescue Story Coru was rescued from a poorly run private shelter. The shelter has over 2,000 dogs living in cramped and wet environment. Coru along with her other friends were used as breeding dogs. After they were done with her, poor Coru was sent to a private shelter where she lived in a cage and never let out. A kind international rescue organization got a rescue message from a volunteer. The founder has over 160 dogs waiting for homes and didn’t have space for another dog. However, when she saw photos of the dogs suffering. She knew it was urgent to rescue them. The rescue took home 19 dogs and promised to find them forever loving homes. Coru had a thorough medical checkup. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on her blood tests. Please give Coru a loving forever home. Story
Possum is the quiet guardian with the softest soul. He doesn’t rush, doesn’t worry, and doesn’t do drama. He calmly strolls around, checking in on everyone like he’s making sure the world is still kind. Life wasn’t always good for him but he’s incredibly gentle and as sweet as they come. If you’re lucky, he will gently kiss you on the tip of your nose once he gets to know you. Possum is looking for a loving home where he will be the center of attention and have a place in your heart. He is a wonderful, sweet dog who deserves so much love. The best possible home for Possum will be a quiet home where he and his humans can keep each other company in his golden years. Medical / Special Needs: Possum is an old man with some arthritis in his joints. He’s got some aches and pains in his body from years of neglect, so he prefers not to be picked up.

* Interested in adopting? Please read the dog’s full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an application at www.dpsrescue.org. All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption fee: $800 Meet Calamari: A Big Corgi with Even Bigger Opinions   At just 10-12 months old and 32 pounds, this handsome boy is still very much a puppy in both age and attitude. He has all the traits corgi lovers adore: confidence, intelligence, stubbornness, charm, and a healthy belief that the world should probably revolve around him. In other words, he's a very typical corgi.   Rescued from a shelter, Calamari has quickly proven himself to be a lovable goofball whose greatest joy in life is simply being wherever his people happen to be.   Daily Life with Calamari   Calamari has settled comfortably into foster life and enjoys a predictable routine.   His day starts with a morning walk, followed by breakfast and some quality time supervising household activities. Throughout the day he alternates between relaxing indoors and exploring the yard with the other dogs. When his foster family leaves for work, he calmly hangs out in a bedroom and patiently waits for everyone to come home.   In the evening, he enjoys a longer walk, dinner, and then another short stroll before bedtime. At night, he sleeps peacefully in a bedroom with another dog, curled up on his own bed surrounded by cozy blankets.   He's not much of a morning alarm clock—unless he hears you get up. Then he'll politely remind you that he knows you're awake by enthusiastically bouncing against the bedroom door.   A Velcro Dog Disguised as a Corgi   For a dog who acts like he is independent, Calamari is secretly all about his people.   He doesn't seem to realize that he's no longer a tiny puppy. If there's a lap available, he'll happily try to occupy it. If there isn't, he'll settle for your feet. If your feet aren't available, he'll simply follow you from room to room until a suitable perch opens up.   His foster jokes that Calamari sometimes seems reluctant to go outside because he's worried he'll miss something happening indoors. Other times, he simply wants to stay close to his favorite person.   What matters most to Calamari isn't where he is—it's who he's with.   The Social Director   Calamari loves other dogs, though he occasionally forgets about personal boundaries.   He's an enthusiastic greeter who assumes every dog he meets would love to become his new best friend. His hobbies include following other dogs around, investigating them thoroughly, and generally inserting himself into their business whether they requested his assistance or not.   Despite his confidence, he's actually quite submissive with other dogs and gets along well with them. He enjoys canine company but may ultimately be happiest in a home where he doesn't have to compete with a large pack for attention.   On walks, his tail starts wagging the moment he spots another dog. He'll happily pull toward them in hopes of making a new friend.   Cat Watching: His Favorite Reality Show   Calamari has very strong opinions about cats.   Cats on the ground? Fascinating.   Cats walking away? Slightly less fascinating.   Cats perched on countertops, cat trees, shelves, or other elevated surfaces? The most exciting thing he has ever seen.   He's currently learning that loudly announcing the presence of elevated cats is not necessary, but he remains deeply committed to monitoring their activities.   The good news is that he's a smart boy who responds well to correction and has shown that he can respect feline boundaries when asked.   Adventure Level: Moderate   Calamari enjoys his walks and outdoor adventures, but he's not looking to train for a marathon.   He's always excited to head out and equally excited to come home again afterward. His foster notes that some rescue dogs seem disappointed when a walk ends, as though they're hoping to return to a previous home. Not Calamari. He's perfectly content wherever his people are.     House Manners   Calamari is potty trained and can use a pee pad if necessary.   He settles quietly when left alone and has shown excellent indoor manners. He doesn't chew, destroy things, or dig holes in the yard.   In fact, he rarely barks at all unless he has something important to say, such as:   'Please let me out of this crate.'   'The gate should be open by now.'   'I have spotted a cat in an elevated position.'   Like many rescue dogs, he appears to have had some unpleasant experiences in his past. Early on, he showed fear when a leash swung through the air near him, suggesting he may have been punished with one before. Since being treated with kindness and patience, that fearful reaction has disappeared.   Calamari: For Corgi Lovers   There's something undeniably special about this goofy boy.   Maybe it's the way he always seems to be smiling.   Maybe it's the fact that he happily serves as a living heated blanket for an elderly Chihuahua who regularly naps on top of him.   Maybe it's how he gently tries to 'care for' his foster family's senior corgi mix by lovingly grooming the little old man's skin growths every chance he gets.   Or maybe it's simply because Calamari has the kind of affectionate, joyful spirit that makes people smile wherever he goes.     Final Thoughts   Calamari may have come from a shelter, but he acts like he's been waiting his whole life for someone to love.   He's affectionate without being clingy, active without being hyper, and goofy without ever trying. He's a giant corgi puppy with a giant corgi personality, and he's ready to bring laughter, companionship, and plenty of unsolicited opinions to his forever home.   If you're looking for a loyal sidekick, professional foot-warmer, amateur cat supervisor, and all-around lovable goofball, Calamari is ready to meet you.May 31, 2026, 9:07 pm

All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption fee: $650 Meet Tuna: The Little Gentleman with the Biggest Heart   Some dogs leave an impression the moment you meet them. Tuna did exactly that.   Our intake coordinator was on a shelter run and met this sweet boy and fell instantly in love. Why? Because this sweet little Corgi-Terrier mix greeted her with the gentlest kisses, as if he knew someone had come to help him. That same kind, grateful spirit continues to shine through every day.   At 5-6 years old and 14 pounds, Tuna is the perfect combination of mellow companion, walking buddy, and devoted sidekick.   A Day in the Life of Tuna   Tuna starts his mornings around 7 AM and enjoys a walk shortly afterward. Once he's had a chance to stretch his legs and sniff the neighborhood news, he's happy to settle in for some well-earned relaxation.   If you work from home, Tuna is an excellent coworker. He spends much of the day quietly lounging nearby, snoozing on a cozy bed or keeping watch from the couch. When his person is away, he calmly rests at home and has proven himself to be quite content waiting for their return.   Another walk in the evening is one of his favorite parts of the day, and after dinner, Tuna is ready to curl up and call it a night surprisingly early. By 7 or 8 PM, he's usually off duty and dreaming about tomorrow's adventures.     Sweet, Smart, and Deeply Loyal   Once he trusts you (and he bonds quickly!), Tuna becomes a devoted little shadow who loves being near his people. He follows his foster around the house, checks in regularly, and likes knowing where his humans are. He's happy to simply be nearby while you go about your day.   He's also remarkably smart. Tuna quickly learns routines, understands commands like 'stay,' 'stop,' and 'let's go,' and picks up new expectations with ease. His foster describes him as incredibly understanding and eager to learn.   Couch Potato Meets Adventure Buddy   Tuna has mastered the art of balance.   Most of the day, he's perfectly content lounging on the couch, napping on a soft comforter, or relaxing in his favorite cozy spot. If there were an Olympic event for professional lounging, Tuna would be a strong contender.   But don't mistake his relaxed nature for laziness.   When it's time for a walk, hike, or adventure, Tuna is all in. He's happily completed two-mile trail outings and loves exploring alongside his people. He enjoys games, learning new things, and getting out to see the world.   House Manners? Excellent.   Tuna comes with an impressive list of good habits.   He's house-trained, familiar with potty pads, and has lovely manners around the home. He'll wait outside a room when asked to stay and doesn't jump onto beds unless invited. He does well with a playpen and understands household routines.   He's not destructive, doesn't chew when bored, and generally prefers spending his time relaxing rather than looking for trouble.   His one mischievous hobby? Digging.   Whether it's the backyard or a patch of dirt during a walk, Tuna loves stopping to investigate the ground. Apparently, he's convinced there's buried treasure somewhere, and he's determined to find it.   Why You'll Love Tuna   Tuna is the kind of dog who sneaks into your heart before you realize it.   He's gentle, affectionate, smart, well-mannered, and wonderfully balanced. He can spend an afternoon snoozing beside you and still happily join you for an evening adventure. He asks for very little beyond a comfortable spot to nap, a few walks, and the company of the people he loves.   And if his shelter rescuer was right—and we think she was—those sweet thank-you kisses are just the beginning.   Tuna is ready to find the family he's been waiting for. All he needs now is someone willing to say yes.May 31, 2026, 9:07 pm
