Story
Lady Lucy – Sweet Survivor  Some dogs have a way of capturing your heart the moment you meet them, and Lady Lucy is certainly one of those dogs. Though her past appears to have been filled with uncertainty, she has emerged from it with a gentle spirit, a loving heart, and an unwavering belief that good things are still ahead. Lady Lucy was one of nine dogs discovered living in a remote wooded area of Middle Tennessee after they were apparently abandoned when their owner fell on difficult times. No one knows exactly how long they survived on their own, but their situation touched the hearts of many rescue volunteers who came together to help. With patience, food, water, and kindness, the dogs were gradually brought to safety. Rescue groups across the region stepped forward to help, and Critter Cavalry Rescue was fortunate enough to welcome Lady Lucy into its care. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that Lucy had once known the comforts of a home. She settled in beautifully and quickly showed everyone what a wonderful companion she is. At just over a year old and weighing 32 pounds, Lucy is the perfect size for a family looking for a smaller dog with a big heart. She appears to be a delightful mix of Corgi and Beagle, though her most remarkable feature is her personality. She is affectionate, gentle, and full of love, with the easygoing nature often found in hound breeds. Whether she's relaxing beside you on the couch or quietly following you from room to room, Lucy simply wants to be close to her people. She is fully grown, crate trained, housebroken, and has excellent manners in the home. Lucy currently lives successfully with other dogs and does very well in an active household with teenagers, but she has made it clear that she would not mind having a little less competition for attention. After all she has been through, we think she would happily embrace a life where she can enjoy a bit more of the spotlight and receive the princess treatment she believes is rightfully hers. Lady Lucy has a way of looking into your eyes that makes you feel like you've known each other forever. She is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds, offers unwavering companionship, and fills a home with warmth and comfort. Her difficult past has not diminished her capacity to love; if anything, it seems to have made her even more appreciative of every kindness she receives. Now all that remains is for the right family to find her. Lady Lucy is packed and ready for her next adventure, with an open heart and a hopeful spirit. She is ready to leave her difficult past behind and begin the life she has always deserved with a family who will cherish her as the special girl she truly is. To learn more about Lady Lucy or to request an adoption application, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 28, 2026, 11:47 am

Story
Meet Popeye, I may be little, but I’m an expert at hide-and-seek! My favorite place is tucked away in the tall grass where I can peek out and watch the world go by. I’m not exactly a fan of photo shoots, so once you put that camera away, I’m ready to run, tumble, and play until it’s time for a nap. One of my cutest features is the bold black stripe running right down the middle of my back—it’s just one more thing that makes me unique! If you’re looking for a fun-loving, adventurous pup with a playful spirit and an adorable look, I just might be your perfect match. He/she is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

Story
Meet Minnie, I may be the tiniest pup in my litter, but don’t let my size fool you—I can keep up with my big brothers and sisters just fine! I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but with a little patience and kindness, my sweet personality starts to shine. I love playing with my siblings, exploring the yard, and then curling up for a cozy nap after all the fun. Being the runt just means there’s a little extra cuteness packed into a tiny package! If you’re looking for a gentle, lovable little girl who will blossom into a devoted best friend, I might be the perfect puppy for you. All I need is a family to love me and help me build my confidence. Could that be you? 🩷 He/she is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Meet Betty Boop, I may be a little camera shy, but don’t let that fool you—I have a big personality! My ears stand straight up, always ready to hear the next adventure. My short little legs can really move, and I can run surprisingly fast! One of my favorite things to do is pull myself through the grass, sniffing every interesting smell along the way.
