Story
Short legs, big ears, curly tail, and a personality that could power a small city… Lizzy Pixie is the kind of dog that makes people smile the second they see her. With her corgi ears, little corgi legs, and adorable curly tail paired with a lab-like body, she’s basically the perfect mashup of all the cutest features rolled into one ridiculously lovable girl. Watch her video and fall in love with this cutie: https://youtu.be/9rW2nM-rZm4?si=kB0uDJsziDP6SkLv Lizzy Pixie is believed to be a Corgi mix, approximately 2 years old. With rescue dogs, it’s always a bit of a mystery and we can’t guarantee breed, but we’d confidently say she got the best of everything. The ears, the legs, the tail, and the happy personality to match. She’s the definition of fun-sized and currently weighs 34 lbs, so don’t let her pictures fool you. She’s a short gal and the perfect in-between size. Not too big, not too small… just right! This girl absolutely loves people. She’s incredibly happy, joyful, and affectionate, and she isn’t shy about showing it. Lizzy thrives on attention, happily leans in for cuddles, and has the kind of bubbly personality that makes her a joy to be around. Whether she’s following you around the house, curling up next to you, or greeting you with her signature happy energy, she just makes life more fun. Lizzy is dog friendly and She is currently fostered in a home with multiple dogs. Two small chihuahuas and another dog around 30 lbs and does great with all of them. Lizzy doesn’t immediately jump into play the second she meets a new dog, preferring to get comfortable first, but once she does, her playful side shines. She has a gentler playstyle and prefers games of tag-you’re-it, zooming around the yard, and sharing toys with her doggy friends rather than rough wrestling. She’s social, respectful, and just enjoys being part of the fun. She also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Lizzy has such a well-balanced personality. She’s happy, silly, adventurous, and cuddly all at once. She loves toys (especially stuffy toys), enjoys playing in the water, and is great at entertaining herself when needed. She would be a wonderful fit for a semi-active family, but she’s also calm enough to be a great companion for someone who works from home. She’s just as happy going on an adventure as she is relaxing by your side afterward. She’s crate trained, potty trained, and already knows how to use a doggy door. Lizzy Pixie also knows how to sit, is eager to please, and walks nicely on a leash. Though sometimes she likes to think she’s in charge of the walk and will walk with the leash in her mouth. She also loves car rides and will happily stick her head out the window, soaking up every second of the adventure. Her ears might be what first catches your eye, but it’s her happy-go-lucky personality that really steals the show. Lizzy Pixie is the kind of dog that brings fun, affection, and laughter into your everyday life. She’s adorable, easy to love, and ready to be someone’s joyful little sidekick. We are willing to test Lizzy Pixie with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Name: Shiloh Age: 8 months Breed: Corgi mix Size: 23 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Say hello to Shiloh! Shiloh is eight month old mixed breed sweetheart and she is ONE SMART COOKIE! Unlike some of her shelter besties in playgroup who might be a little slow to pick up on basic training, Shiloh LOVES to learn new tricks. And she picks them up FAST. The person here that has taken her on as their project dog is always impressed at how quickly she learns. She already knows sit, stay, down, give paw, and loves a game of fetch. She is also great with other dogs and keeps up with the energy no matter how high. She would make a great working dog or hiking/running companion especially since she is basically still a pup. Don't get us wrong - she loves to snuggle too so really she's the best of both worlds. She's fixed, heartworm negative, and ready for her next adventure with you! ****LOCATED IN MISSISSIPPI - TRANSPORT UPON ADOPTION***** Shiloh's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports! --> If you are interested in adopting Shiloh please fill out our online application here: (https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 - Dog). A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. No fenced in yard required, and YES - we adopt to families with children! The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application. Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions. For further information, please first fill out the application referenced above. **Due to import regulations we are not able to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time.

Story
Gracie is a sweet dog. We have had her since 2020 and got her when she was a puppy from a breeder. She is approxiametly 5 years old. Gracie does well with children, but likes to jump so would not do well with small children. She is super friendly, and gets along well with her pal Abby. I think that she would do best though as an only dog, as she can be bossy because which is typical of her breed. She does chase our cats. She is trained on an invisible fence, and housetrained. She has plenty of energy! Unfortunately our home has become too busy to give her the attention that she needs. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She is a corgi, so an experienced dog owner is a must, especially because of her breed. Thank you for thinking about giving Gracie a home.

Story
Meet Ginny, a young adult (approx. 2 years old) spayed female Corgi mix, weighing about 45 lbs!  Ginny is currently in TN and is expected to arrive in CT on 2/21. We are accepting applications on her now!  Ginny is a sweet girl who loves her people, she will happily follow you around and is an excellent cuddler! She also loves car rides and would be thrilled to join you on adventures! While she does ok meeting other dogs, Ginny can be dog selective (she was surrendered by her previous owner due to not getting along with one of the other dogs in the home). She has done well with the other dogs in her TN foster home, however we feel that she would be happiest as an only dog. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats.  Ginny loves people and is a friendly girl but as a young herding breed, we recommend older kids 10+ (as she may try to herd small children). She thrives in a calm home and would love nothing more than to be the center of your attention! Ginny is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special pup today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2647740##

Story
Welcome Ana to CCPAL foster/rehome program. Ana is living in Connecticut. She is a 32 pound and 5 year 8 month old Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog. She was adopted as a puppy and now is not getting along with a new Healer in the home. The Corgi part of this pup makes her more suitable for an only home. She is great in a doggy park but not fond of sharing her bed, toys or family with another live in dog. This makes miss Ana in need of a new forever home. She is an affectionate dog. She is potty trained and has good recall when called. She is an alert dog when someone is at the door or something out of place in the yard. She is adorable and will be a great companion for a family. She has been good around all people including strangers. She is currently not around a cat . Ana is a smaller dog with a larger than life personality and looks to match. She is a great walker on leash and has had some training. She is very smart. Ana could have a meet and greet with an approved application. Ana is healthy, spayed and current on vaccines. Rehome fee is a $200 donation to the Rescue. We have included her puppy video when she was in Texas and her current photos now in CT home. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See her cute video!!
