Story
Two years old, and still is pretty much a puppy. He needs someone who can help him with his anxiety and excitement reactivity. He has really bad separation anxiety and needs someone who can preferably be there with him while that gets worked out. He’s really sweet and loves people but is skeptical about dogs. I would be careful bringing him around other dogs especially bigger dogs as he’s a little more fearful of them, but generally likes hanging out with smaller dogs. I would also be careful with small kids. Even though he loves them, he’s been known to jump, and might get too excited. He is crate trained, but with his separation anxiety he can’t be left in the crate all alone in the house. Overall Reggie needs someone who has a good amount of time for him as well as experience in how to handle a herding breed/corgi. We wish we could keep him, but with moving, as well as our change in finances, this is our last resort. Please help us find a good home for Reggie.

Story
Meet Moo — your very own “pet raccoon” lookalike with a heart full of love. Moo is a sweet 7-year-old girl from Tennessee weighing around 30 pounds. While her paperwork lists her as a Yorkie/Terrier mix, her foster family suspects there may be a little Corgi mixed in too. With her adorable fluffy tail and unique markings, she truly resembles a tiny raccoon in the cutest possible way. Moo came to Safe Haven after her mom in Tennessee, a dedicated shelter volunteer, became ill and could no longer care for her own dogs. Safe Haven is incredibly grateful to have been chosen to help find loving forever families for these deserving pups. Inside the home, Moo is an absolute dream companion. She is potty trained, crate trained, and very well-mannered. She’s perfectly content lounging in a cozy dog bed nearby, but she also enjoys coming over for pets, scratches, and quiet affection from her people. She walks nicely on a leash, though loud noises and unfamiliar people can still make her a little nervous. With patience and consistency, her confidence continues to grow every day. Moo does well with other dogs but appreciates having her own personal space. She may give a gentle warning growl if another dog gets too close while she’s eating or relaxing. She’s looking for a family that will respect her boundaries and continue helping her feel safe and secure. This adorable girl is also on a little wellness journey and could benefit from losing a few pounds. She does not require a fenced yard, but she should remain leashed outdoors since sudden sounds can still startle her. Every day, Moo opens up a little more, showing just how loving and loyal she can be. She’s ready to find a forever family where she can finally relax, feel secure, and enjoy the happy life she deserves. Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip. To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process. To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.

Story
I’m Miranda. Small Package. Big Comeback. I’m about 5 years old. A Pit Bull Terrier and Corgi mix, which means I’m a little bit sturdy, a little bit sassy, and a whole lot of heart packed into one cute frame. People call me a medium sized gift package. I think that fits. I’m the kind of dog who doesn’t take up much space, but somehow fills the whole room. I’ve been through more than I should have. I handled it. I kept going. I did the hard part already, and I came out the other side stronger. You don’t need to fix me. I’m ready now. I’m sweet. I’m loving. I like being close. I like knowing I belong somewhere. I’m not here for chaos or drama. I’m here for a real home, steady routines, and someone who wants a dog that just fits into their life.  I do have special needs. I have a spinal issue, and am going to physical therapy twice a week.  I’ve got that mix of play and calm. I’ll enjoy the moment, then settle right in next to you like that’s where I’ve always been. If you’re looking for a dog who has done the work, who appreciates the simple things, and who will quietly make your life better just by being there, I’m ready for you. All I need now is a place to land that lasts. ##2678068##

Story
Willis is a precious 6 year old boy, weighing about 15 lbs. He is thought to be a Corgi-Chihuahua Mix. He is a very social pup; he loves people and other dogs. He has experience living with a cat as well. His favorite activities include playing with toys, and spending time with his special person. Willis is visually impaired; his pupils were confirmed to be non-reactive to light. However he does not let his blindness get in his way of enjoying every day. In fact if you met Willis, you most likely would not even know his vision is limited. He follows sounds and gets around, finding his toys and treats without any issues. Willis would do best in a home with another dog who can teach him how to navigate his new environment and ensure his days are rich and happy! Anyone lucky enough to adopt Willis, would have a best friend for life. Willis has great house manners and can stay home alone, uncrated. He is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in adding this precious pup to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey-a! I’m Mario ❤️ I may be a little guy, but I’ve got a big heart, lots of love to give, and I’m very ready for my happily ever after. I came to rescue from a crowded shelter where I was running out of time, but thankfully I got my second chance — and now I’m hoping my forever family is next! I’m a super friendly boy who loves meeting people. New friends? Amazing. Familiar faces? Even better! I’m always happy to see you and usually come with a wagging tail and cheerful little smile. I really just enjoy being part of the fun and close to my people. I also get along with other dogs and currently share my kennel area with two other male dogs. I do especially well with female dogs, though, because I can sometimes get a little bossy with other boys. What can I say? I like to think I’m in charge sometimes. But overall, I’m still a very good boy and do just fine with proper introductions and respectful dog friends. I’m not sure how I do with cats or young kids yet, but I’ve shown everyone here what a sweet, happy companion I can be. I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, so I’m all set and ready to start my next adventure with a family of my own. All I need now is someone to love me forever. Adoption fee: $350 Apply at: www.adoggie4you.org Mario is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $225 transport fee. Please note that transport is not available to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 3, 2026, 4:59 pm

Story
We are looking to rehome our sweet 8.5 year old lab/corgi mix. She is a really sweet pup but cannot be in a house with small children or other dogs. We have had Lulu for 6+ years and she has always been fearful and a bit nippy at children. - not good with other dogs or children. -She is good with our cat- Lulu loves walks but is reactive to other dogs, crossing the street and using her vibrating collar is necessary. She needs a confident owner who can walk her and get her back on track when distracted by dogs. Does best with fenced in yard -2 chronic (easily managed) medical conditions, for thyroid and seizures. Daily medication necessary and easily given. Medicine is inexpensive. -loves pets, belly rubs and to cuddleWe will provide the remaining medicine food/treats, and her vibrating collar, leash, beds, treats, flea/tick medicine that we haveLulu truly is a wonderful dog but needs a different environment as she cannot be around children
