Story
I’m Manny, a 12 year old, 20 pound, male Corgi mix. I’m looking for a special home to spend my golden years. I’m very loving and get along with dogs and cats. I take my time warming up to new things. I am house trained. I am blind but get around fine and have no problem with stairs. In my past life I was very secluded and not cared for. That gave me some triggers. Well really just one — gates, any kind of gate. Because of Manny’s nervousness and past life, we will plan of multiple meetings. Also, Manny will need to be adopted within 50 miles of Flossmoor, IL. Manny is microchipped as well as up to date on vaccines, monthly preventatives. He has had a dental. Manny’s adoption fee is $150. If you are think you are Manny’s special someone, please visit heathersfosterdogs.org to complete and submit your adoption application.

Story
🧡 Meet Choco 🧡 🐶 Name: Choco 📏 Weight: 15kg (33 lbs) 🎂 Age: 5 years old ⚥ Gender: Male (neutered) 🏥 Health Condition: No known medical issues 🐾 Breed: Welsh Corgi 🎨 Color: Brown & White 🐾 Rescue Story Choco was rescued in Korea after his former guardian, who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness, was no longer able to care for him and had to surrender him. He was at risk of being sent to a shelter, but thankfully, he was rescued just in time. He spent a month in a foster home in Korea where he did relatively well. Aside from some barking triggered by outdoor noises and needing caution with unfamiliar dogs, he showed no major issues. He was later adopted by a family in Vancouver, living on a nature-friendly island. The family had young children and frequently allowed off-leash activities. However, this environment turned out to be unsuitable for Choco. 💡 What Choco Needs Choco is looking for a family who understands the Welsh Corgi breed and can provide consistent leadership and training. He is intelligent, loyal, and eager to bond, but thrives best in a stable and structured environment. 🏡 Choco’s Ideal Home 👨‍👩 A household with no children 🐕 A home where Choco is the only pet 🏡 A detached house with some space from neighbors due to barking (not suitable for apartments or duplexes) 🌳 A securely fenced yard so Choco can exercise safely even when walks aren’t possible 🌲 A quiet suburban or rural environment is better than a high-stimulation city setting 🕒 A guardian who can dedicate time and effort to consistent training and guidance Choco isn’t the right fit for every home, but for the right person who understands his breed and can offer the guidance he needs, he’ll be a deeply devoted and loving companion. Please consider giving Choco the forever home he deserves. 💛

Story
Arthur is a 9-year-old purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi who loves playing fetch until his stubby legs give up! He is a lover/cuddler and is super smart and a great guard dog. We have a 15 month old toddler that he is being aggressive to, which is why we’re seeking to re-home him. He doesn’t do well with children under about 7 years old and does not do well with other dogs or cats. He also doesn’t go on walks very well given leash aggression. If you have an outdoor space where you can play fetch and if you are willing to work with him, he will be the sweetest guard dog you may ever have.

Age/Birthdate:04/27/2025 * Estimated or Current Weight: 20lbs best guess* Location:Lockport,IL * Fully Vetted: No Any Special Medical or Special Needs:No Temperament with: Dogs:Good Cats: Children list specific ages: as young as 4 in the home Strangers:Good, playful Training Needs: Crate Trained:Working on it! Potty Trained:Working on it! Using potty pads. 🐾 Hi! I’m Zip — the cutest little Corgi mix puppy around! 🐾 I may only weigh about 5 pounds right now, but don’t let my size fool you — I’ve got a BIG personality! I love to wrestle with my siblings and cuddle up with my humans after playtime. I’m super soft, fuzzy, and oh-so-snuggly — basically, a little ball of love! I’ve been around kids as young as 4 and I think they’re so much fun! I also love playing with other dogs and would fit right in with a playful, active family. Right now, I’m still working on potty training (I use potty pads since I’m still little) and learning about crate training too — but I’m smart and eager to learn! I love to chew on toys (what puppy doesn’t?) and I’m always up for some playtime or snuggles. I eat my meals with lots of enthusiasm — yum! If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, snuggly pup who’s ready to grow up right by your side, I’d love to meet you! 💛 This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason. If the dog or puppy is not yet fully vetted, we can only consider applications from adopters within an hour's drive or 40 miles of Lemont, IL, due to required vet visits at our partner veterinarians. For fully vetted dogs or puppies, we welcome applications from out-of-state or beyond the 40-mile radius. Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval. Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners. The adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue) Microchip Rabies vaccine DHPP vaccine Bordetella vaccine 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease) General wellness care, including deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention Your adoption fee also helps support medical care for other rescue animals, including heartworm treatments, surgeries, and emergency care. Spay/Neuter Policy: We spay/neuter dogs at 16 weeks or older, at the discretion of the rescue and in consultation with our partner veterinarians. While some veterinarians recommend delaying the procedure based on a breeds projected size, as a rescue, our primary goal is to prevent unwanted litters. Spaying and neutering also provide significant health benefits, including cancer prevention and reducing behavioral issues. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay/neuter for cats and dogs as early as 16 weeks. We carefully assess each case to determine the best timing for the procedure. Interested in Adopting? Submit an adoption application at www.rubywhiskers.org/adopt

I’m still learning the ropes when it comes to crate and potty training, but I’m eager to catch on. Like any young pup, I’ll need continued training to help me grow into the best dog I can be. I love to eat (mealtime is the best time!), and I’m always ready for a good play session with my favorite chew toys and rope toys. But don’t let my fancy name fool you, I’m just a fun-loving, playful Corgi mix puppy who’s full of personality (and a little sass, too!). I’m still really young and learning all the important puppy things—potty training, crate training, and basic manners. Right now, I’m using potty pads while I work on getting the hang of it. I’m playful with other dogs and kids—I’ve hung out with kids as young as 4, and I love wrestling with my doggy friends! I haven’t met any cats yet, but I’m open-minded. I’m full of energy when it’s playtime, but I can also settle down and cuddle when I’m tired. I love to chew on toys and, yes, I do tend to scarf down my food (what can I say? Growing puppies need fuel!). Even though I’m tiny, I don’t let my siblings push me around—I hold my own just fine! I would love a forever home with playful dogs or kids to romp around with and humans to snuggle after a good play session.
