Story
Maple is a two-year-old 20-pound, female, shy, sweet and extremely dog and cat-loving, merle cowboy Corgi looking for a loving guardian. Maple has the extremely cool-looking heterochromia (one blue eye and one brown eye) sometimes seen in dogs with a merle coat. The bi-colored eyes does not affect her vision. A cowboy Corgi is a mix of a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and an Australian Cattle Dog. Surprisingly, she is smaller than both breeds! She is intelligent, loyal, smart and learns patterns quickly. She is housebroken and crate-trained, but accustomed to going outside at least four times a day. She is looking for a home with at least one other well-behaved happy friendly dog to share her life with. She is wonderful on walks and completely non-reactive to other dogs. She is jumpy and nervous however with new people and loud noises. I think that will melt away over time. Sadly, sweet Maple spent way too much time crated due to her mom’s busy work schedule of 12 hour shifts at a hospital. She is incredibly sweet and loving and snuggles all night with you in bed if you let her. Maple is extremely healthy, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and bordetella, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative, fecal-tested, dewormed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $500 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue. We adopted Viggy when she was 9 weeks old from a rescue in Missouri. She is now 11 years old as of March. Viggy is a wonderful, loyal, healthy dog who loves to snuggle, play fetch, and chew on sticks.Viggy needs a quiet home with no small children. We have two small kids running around and both parents working, and the constant noise and commotion of the house causes Viggy a lot of anxiety and stress. She would do well in a home with older children or just adults. She has never bitten or snapped at any children, so visiting children, such as grandkids, would be safe around her.Viggy is good off leash when there are no other animals around and will not run away. She loves to be right by your side at all times. Viggy is house broken and trained. She can sit, stay, come, go to her crate, roll over, and play dead. Unfortunately for us and for her, she is not thriving in our house and we would love for her to go someone who can give her the right, calm environment she needs.

Baxter is an exuberant young dog who loves life and seems determined to live it to the fullest. His huge brown eyes are beautiful, and his corgi-like body is graceful and athletic. He lived in a home in Mexico with another dog (Dexter) and when their owners moved, they were left inside with no food or water. Luckily, they were eventually rescued and For Good rescue opened its arms, so they were able to come here to find their forever loving homes. Baxter's ideal home would be one where he gets lots and lots of love! This dog LOVES people! He also loves other dogs and children. He has lived with cats as well. He is crate trained. Baxter is lively and engaging (perfect description of a corgi!) although he also loves to snuggle. He will lay across your lap, happy to be close, knowing he is safe. He's just a darling dog and will bring lots of joy to any home. If youre interested this or one of our other dogs or would like help finding the perfect match please submit an application.
