Story
Two years old, and still is pretty much a puppy. He needs someone who can help him with his anxiety and excitement reactivity. He has really bad separation anxiety and needs someone who can preferably be there with him while that gets worked out. He’s really sweet and loves people but is skeptical about dogs. I would be careful bringing him around other dogs especially bigger dogs as he’s a little more fearful of them, but generally likes hanging out with smaller dogs. I would also be careful with small kids. Even though he loves them, he’s been known to jump, and might get too excited. He is crate trained, but with his separation anxiety he can’t be left in the crate all alone in the house. Overall Reggie needs someone who has a good amount of time for him as well as experience in how to handle a herding breed/corgi. We wish we could keep him, but with moving, as well as our change in finances, this is our last resort. Please help us find a good home for Reggie.

Story
I'm 20 lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $400 Heaven is a gentle, sweet soul who is ready to find a forever family of her very own. She came to the shelter as the devoted mama of seven beautiful puppies after being trapped on a property where she had been running loose. Her puppies have all found homes, and now it’s finally Heaven’s turn to be someone’s baby. This sweet girl can be shy and unsure, especially in new situations, but beneath her timid exterior is a loving heart just waiting to blossom. With patience, understanding, and a little time, her affectionate personality begins to shine, and watching her confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. Heaven would do best with a special family that will let her adjust at her own pace and give her the grace she needs to feel safe. A confident, friendly dog in the home would be a wonderful companion to help show her the ropes and reassure her that everything is going to be okay. After spending so much of her life caring for others and simply trying to survive, Heaven deserves a family that will shower her with the love she’s always deserved. If you have a patient heart and room in your home for a truly special girl, Heaven is ready to start her happily ever after. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Story
JANETThree’s Company called… and apparently Janet got cast as the sweet, soft-hearted roommate with the giant bat ears and emotional support energy. 🖤This little beauty is around 12 weeks old, approximately 7 pounds, and appears to be some kind of Chihuahua mix… although we strongly suspect there’s a little corgi mixed in based on those absolutely ridiculous ears. We’re pretty sure she can hear a treat bag open from three counties away.Janet is currently being fostered with her brother Jack, and while he’s usually the first one ready to explore something new, Janet tends to hang back just a little at first and take everything in. Once she settles in though? She absolutely wants to be close to her people — curled up beside you on the couch, quietly following you around, and emotionally attaching herself to your daily routine immediately. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, loves everyone she meets, and has such a soft, gentle personality. She’s still learning all the normal puppy things like leash walking, crate life, and potty training, but she’s eager to learn and already proving to be a very easy puppy to love. And honestly? There’s just something special about the quiet girls. 🖤✨ Apply to adopt at:www.biggiepawsrescue.orgYou could keep scrolling… but Janet would take that personally. 🐾▪️ Located in: Kewaunee County▪️ Adoption fee: $500 + $150 refundable spay deposit▪️ Microchipped: Yes▪️ Current on age-appropriate vaccines: YesDATCP # 494550

Story
Meet Moo — your very own “pet raccoon” lookalike with a heart full of love. Moo is a sweet 7-year-old girl from Tennessee weighing around 30 pounds. While her paperwork lists her as a Yorkie/Terrier mix, her foster family suspects there may be a little Corgi mixed in too. With her adorable fluffy tail and unique markings, she truly resembles a tiny raccoon in the cutest possible way. Moo came to Safe Haven after her mom in Tennessee, a dedicated shelter volunteer, became ill and could no longer care for her own dogs. Safe Haven is incredibly grateful to have been chosen to help find loving forever families for these deserving pups. Inside the home, Moo is an absolute dream companion. She is potty trained, crate trained, and very well-mannered. She’s perfectly content lounging in a cozy dog bed nearby, but she also enjoys coming over for pets, scratches, and quiet affection from her people. She walks nicely on a leash, though loud noises and unfamiliar people can still make her a little nervous. With patience and consistency, her confidence continues to grow every day. Moo does well with other dogs but appreciates having her own personal space. She may give a gentle warning growl if another dog gets too close while she’s eating or relaxing. She’s looking for a family that will respect her boundaries and continue helping her feel safe and secure. This adorable girl is also on a little wellness journey and could benefit from losing a few pounds. She does not require a fenced yard, but she should remain leashed outdoors since sudden sounds can still startle her. Every day, Moo opens up a little more, showing just how loving and loyal she can be. She’s ready to find a forever family where she can finally relax, feel secure, and enjoy the happy life she deserves. Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip. To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process. To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.

Story
Willis is a precious 6 year old boy, weighing about 15 lbs. He is thought to be a Corgi-Chihuahua Mix. He is a very social pup; he loves people and other dogs. He has experience living with a cat as well. His favorite activities include playing with toys, and spending time with his special person. Willis is visually impaired; his pupils were confirmed to be non-reactive to light. However he does not let his blindness get in his way of enjoying every day. In fact if you met Willis, you most likely would not even know his vision is limited. He follows sounds and gets around, finding his toys and treats without any issues. Willis would do best in a home with another dog who can teach him how to navigate his new environment and ensure his days are rich and happy! Anyone lucky enough to adopt Willis, would have a best friend for life. Willis has great house manners and can stay home alone, uncrated. He is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in adding this precious pup to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.
