Corgi puppies and dogs in Holyoke, Massachusetts

Gracie is a sweet dog. We have had her since 2020 and got her when she was a puppy from a breeder. She is approxiametly 5 years old. Gracie does well with children, but likes to jump so would not do well with small children. She is super friendly, and gets along well with her pal Abby. I think that she would do best though as an only dog, as she can be bossy because which is typical of her breed. She does chase our cats. She is trained on an invisible fence, and housetrained. She has plenty of energy! Unfortunately our home has become too busy to give her the attention that she needs. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She is a corgi, so an experienced dog owner is a must, especially because of her breed. Thank you for thinking about giving Gracie a home.

(Rescue rules apply, so breed and birthday are our best guess.) Georgie is thoughtful when you first meet him and obviously because he is so cute, he attracts a lot of attention and love. The best part is that he is great on leash and checks in often with his person. Insider tip- he loves belly rubs and booty scratches and will work for a treat.. He is very food motivated which always makes training that much more fun! With other dogs, Georgie is social, polite, and confident. He met multiple new dogs and wandered the yard comfortably with them. He is fostered in a home with other dogs and his foster confirmed, he is easy company. When he met a smaller dog, a chihuahua type, he really lit up, was perfectly gentle and we could see his playful side. Unfortunately she isn’t the type to play so his offers went unreturned but it was still very cute to see. A medium-energy dog companion would suit him well but no kitties for Georgie- something in his DNA told him chase and for obvious reasons- cats hate that. Georgie would thrive in a home with a yard or even a townhome setup where he has space to move and explore. Once settled, he does have a bit of energy and would absolutely enjoy hikes and outdoor adventures with his people. He would do best with someone familiar with corgi traits, as he carries that classic thoughtful, loyal, slightly independent streak. UPDATE:  ISAAC has had the surgery to remove his cherry eye and all is well.  There is no medicine or daily care that he will need.  This is Isaac a 2 year old, 15 pounder who was very shy at first but warmed up quickly to the other dogs and his new surroundings. He is house and crate trained, my 2nd rescue for 2024 and he is extremely close to his buddy BUZBY. He follows BUZBY around like a shadow. They have a great time running zoomies in the backyard and playing chase. They do know there is a difference between inside and outdoor play. ISAAC is quiet and gives soft kisses. He is not bothered by the other foster dogs in the home but his buddy is BUZBY and he loves him. We think he is a Pomeranian/Corgi mix, he white coat is very soft and smooth and he does not mind you giving him head rubs. ISAAC has a cherry eye but is scheduled to have it removed this week before adoption. Well, sometimes we get the most unusual phone calls. And they pull out our hearts with the intensity of need, even if they are a thousand miles away.  Trooper and some of his friends from New Mexico have entered our world of trying to help.  There's a small shelter in a very small town in New Mexico. That has very few people come by to adopt. But yet the drop offs continue to build, and adoptions do not match the number of dogs in the shelter.  A very dedicated and passionate rescue woman that drives her own independent, forty foot tractor trailer, moving loads of cargo in freight from state to state, from job to job, has learn that she must stop in at that shelter and check out what they have on the euthanasia list. She is an independent lady who champions the underdogs.  She gave Critter Cavalry a call and told her about a number of small breed dogs that are under twenty pounds that need a rescue to sponsor them.  Critter Cavalry signed up to help.
