Story
Name: Coco Breed: Korean street dog (Guessed to be Jindu/Corgi) Weight: 27 pounds Gender: Female Spayed/neutered: Spayed Age: approx 8.5 years old Obtained From: Leader of the Pack Dog Rescue in 2018.  Korean street dog. Reason for Intake: Coco is afraid of the 18 month old child in the home and is growling and snarling at them. Up to Date with Vetting: Yes Good with dogs: She has lived with an older Golden retriever and a young, male, Lab.  She was fine with them and is better with calm dogs who don't get into her face and space. Good with cats: She lives with cats, however, the cats live on a different level of the home and they really don't interact.  She has had skirmishes with the cats and been found with fur in her mouth.   Good with kids: Not comfortable with toddlers or young children.  She has lived with children 10 years and older and been fine with them as long as they went slow with her and respected her boundaries. Good with strangers: Nervous with new people.  If a stranger comes to the door she will bark and her hackles will go up.  She is curious and will approach them most of the time but she doesn't enjoy being touched by strangers.  She is OK with them moving around in the home but will avoid them and go and lay out of the way.  More uncomfortable with men and people wearing hats. Resource guarding issues: She does not guard anything from the people in the home.  She has guarded her food bowl, treats, and toys from the dogs in the home. Ever bitten a human: No Ever bitten a dog: No Fears: Strangers, being handled, toddlers, car rides, busy streets.  Described as fearful in general. Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: They have not crated her.  She did travel here from Korea in a crate. Good in the car: She is anxious in the car.  She is terrified of car washes. Bark when left alone: No.  They are currently working from home but in the past she has been left alone while they worked full-time outside the home. Destructive: No Energy Level: Medium Leash skills: She walks well on leash but is reactive to other dogs on walks and will bark/growl/lunge at them.  She is afraid to walk on busy streets. Okay with physical handling/manipulations: In general she is uncomfortable with being handled.  They can bathe her but she does not enjoy it.  She is OK with them brushing her back but has snapped at them when they have tried to brush her longer fur.  She is professionally groomed but the groomer is careful and goes slow with her.  She has seen a mobile vet at home and a vet at a clinic.  She is fearful but they have been able to give her care. Known commands: sit, down, speak Food on now: Bold by Nature raw patties.  Chicken, beef, turkey, pork or duck. Behavioural issues: Fearful in general.  Afraid of the 18 month old child in the home and is growling/snarling at them.  Uncomfortable being handled and needs someone who is careful and goes slow.  Reactive to dogs while on leash and afraid to walk on busier streets.  Anxious in the car. Medical issues: None November 7, 2024, 8:53 am

Story
Meet Bro! ***Currently in Toronto!!! Age: 1–2 years Weight: 10kg Breed: Welsh Corgi Mix Color: Brown & White Neutered Male Personality & Social Behavior (With People) Bro is a charming, affectionate dog who seeks out human connection—whether he knows you or not! He loves cuddling, leaning into people for pets, and has a naturally sociable personality. He’s also incredibly smart and can learn new commands in as little as 30 minutes. That said, Bro is not a pushover. He’s clever enough to test boundaries and will behave differently depending on the person’s energy or confidence. He doesn’t like having a leash put on or being touched around the head, neck, or hips. He has occasionally reacted with a light nip (enough to leave a mark but not break skin) if startled or overstimulated. Interestingly, at the vet—when wearing a muzzle—he behaved like a complete gentleman and even received compliments from the medical staff after calmly receiving two injections. He seems to quickly assess whether he’s in control or not, and adjusts his behavior accordingly. Social with Dogs Bro is outgoing and friendly with other dogs—both familiar and new. He approaches dogs of all sizes with a wagging tail and play invitations. While he does sometimes get nervous around large dogs (curling his tail down), he’s never aggressive. He’s most comfortable with dogs similar in size or smaller. However, he can be overly enthusiastic—jumping on or crowding other dogs—so he may not be a good match for shy or easily irritated pups. Cats & Birds He shows strong curiosity toward cats and birds during walks, often trying to chase them. This behavior appears to stem from playful instinct rather than aggression. Energy Level Bro is still young and full of energy! He enjoys walks and playtime but can also settle down nicely. If you ignore him during work or rest time, he’ll often entertain himself with toys or quietly nap. ‍ Leash Behavior He tends to pull on the leash, but overall listens well and follows his handler. He’s easily redirected with a cheerful voice, calling his name, or picking up the pace. Walks with Bro include lots of stop-and-sniff moments—he’s a curious explorer! Other Notes • Resource guarding: He guards food from both people and other dogs. He once reacted to being pet while eating a treat. • Mild separation anxiety: He may bark briefly when his primary caretaker leaves but settles down quickly. • House training: Mostly does his business outdoors, though he may use pee pads if he can’t go out for a long time. • Crate-trained: Understands the “house” command and rides well in a crate during car trips. Special Needs & Ideal Training Approach Bro is extremely intelligent and emotionally perceptive. He’s quick to read people and situations, which can be both a strength and a challenge. He dislikes being touched around the head and hips but has made progress with consistent, gentle desensitization. Still, he may mouth or nip if overstimulated. He will thrive under positive reinforcement. He’s successfully learned “wait,” “shake,” and “down” in just 10–30 minutes each. If you build trust and make training a fun, rewarding experience, Bro will shine. Rescue Story Bro was found wandering in front of a convenience store and brought to a local shelter after being reported. He’s now safe, healthy, and ready to find the right person who will understand and nurture his intelligent, affectionate spirit. Story
Meet Mandoo Age: 3–4 years Weight: 6kg Height: 28cm (shoulder height) Breed: Welsh mix Color: Brown & White Neutered Male   Rescue Story Mandoo was found wandering around an apartment complex and ended up in a city shelter after being reported by a resident. Now he’s looking for a forever home where he’ll never be alone again. People Skills Mandoo is a sweet, snuggly boy who adores attention from both familiar people and strangers. He leans in for pets and loves a good treat! Sudden touches can startle him, but once he trusts you, he’ll roll over for belly rubs and even let you lift him gently under the belly. He hasn’t met children under 13 yet. Dog Social Skills Friendly and curious, Mandoo loves trying to make dog friends—even if he sometimes gets left out of the fun. He’s gentle, non-confrontational, and prefers to walk away rather than react if another dog gets moody. Best with dogs his size or smaller! With Cats He hasn’t been tested with cats yet, but this can be arranged if needed. Energy Level Mandoo has a balanced energy—he enjoys outdoor adventures but also knows how to chill and relax indoors. Leash Manners Still learning the ropes! He can be startled by new sights and sounds but seeks comfort from his person. With gentle guidance and practice, he’s gaining confidence every day. Other Notes Not food-aggressive but loves his meals—so he might sneak snacks from other dogs if given the chance. He’s not suited for long crate time but is okay being left alone for short periods. Mandoo is generally quiet, only barking occasionally when something unfamiliar catches his attention. Mandoo is looking for a kind, patient adopter who will help him build confidence and feel safe. Story
Hi, I’m Deumjigi! 🐶💛 That means “reliable” in Korean—and once you meet me, you’ll see why! I’m a 2-year-old male Jindo mix, around 19kg, with short little legs, a round belly, and a face full of charm. People say I look sturdy and dependable… but those who really know me say I’m secretly a big sweetheart too. 😉 I was rescued just in time from a shelter where I was at risk of euthanasia. Even though I’ve been through hard times, I’ve held on to my bright spirit and gentle heart. I greet the world with a smile and a happy wag of my tail—and I especially love greeting people! I adore humans. I don’t hesitate to walk right up to someone new and wiggle my bum in excitement. I’ve been told I make people smile just by saying hello. Some say I look strong and noble; others say I’m just plain adorable. I think I might be both! Despite my sturdy look, I’m full of affection and playful charm. I love attention, cuddles, and curling up next to someone I love. I get along well with other dogs, but what truly makes me happiest is simply being by your side. Since I’m still young, I’m getting used to life in a home and learning all the new routines that come with it. I may need a bit of time and patience to fully settle in, but I promise I’m eager to learn, and I’ll grow into the best companion you could ask for. Behind this strong body is a soft, gentle heart—and I’m ready to give that heart to a family who will love me forever. I’m waiting patiently for the day I finally meet my forever people. Could that be you? With all my love, Deumjigi 🐾🧡

Story
Dalong is in a foster home in Oakville, ON waiting for her forever family. Background: Dalong was one of the lucky dogs rescued from an abandoned manufacturing building in Hanam, Korea, last spring. She lived as a stray with other dogs in the area until her rescue. Earlier this year, she moved to our boarding house in Korea, where she lived peacefully with other dogs until her departure. She’s now in a loving foster home in Oakville, ON. Personality and Socialization: Dalong is a sweet and gentle girl with a calm, medium energy level. Though initially a little shy, she warms up quickly to people and becomes incredibly affectionate. She loves everyone—men, women, seniors, and young people alike. With other dogs, Dalong is a bit cautious at first but gets along well once she’s comfortable. She thrives with calm, friendly, and gentle dogs but isn’t a fan of overly energetic or dominant personalities. Behaviours: Dalong walks well on a leash and stays close to her humans, making her an enjoyable walking companion. She is well-behaved in the car, remains calm during baths, and handles vet visits with ease. Indoors, she is quiet, well-mannered, and has shown no signs of destructive behavior. While she prefers to do her business outside, she is also comfortable using pee pads when necessary. Health and Diet: When rescued, Dalong was treated for heartworms and giardia. She has since completed her treatments and is now happy and healthy. She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and on monthly parasite prevention. She eats kibble twice a day and has no known allergies. Ideal Home: Dalong would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time—whether a remote worker or a retiree. She would also love a friendly, gentle dog companion to keep her company. Easygoing and affectionate, Dalong is a joy to have around and will bring warmth and happiness to any home. If you’re looking for a loving, well-mannered, and gentle companion, Dalong might be the perfect match for you! Apply to adopt Dalong through link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/dalong/

Story
ALL ABOUT ME  - Name: Choco - Age: 5 yrs old - Gender: Male - Spayed/Neutered: Yes - Breed: Corgi mix - Colour: Black & brown (with some white spots) - Weight: 13kg / 28.6lb - Microchipped: Yes   MY RESCUE STORY Hi there! My name is Choco. I grew up on a farm where I was neglected and wasn’t cared for properly. I even survived a dangerous flood that nearly took my life. Thankfully, I was rescued just in time. Now, I’m ready to find a loving forever family who will give me the care and love I deserve.   MY HEALTH - Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete) - I’ve been neutered and have no known health issues.   MY PERSONALITY I’m as sweet as chocolate — inside and out! I absolutely love making new friends, whether it’s with people or other dogs. I’ll happily come right up to you, ready for pets, cuddles, and all the affection you want to give. I have a special soft spot for kids, and once I get to know you better, I even love being picked up and snuggled. Volunteers and staff say I’m even more adorable in person — they can’t get enough of my gentle nature and trusting heart. I’m a loving soul who quickly bonds with both people and pups, ready to bring joy and warmth wherever I go.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS With People: Despite my tough past and being overlooked for so long, I have a heart full of trust and love for people. I’m a friendly soul who welcomes attention and pets from anyone—even strangers! Just call my name, and I’ll happily come running over, tail wagging with excitement. I absolutely adore being brushed and gently massaged—it’s my little slice of heaven. I’m easygoing around food too; I don’t guard it and share my space kindly. Kids are no problem at all—I’m gentle and patient with respectful children. While I love cuddles, I’m a bit picky about being picked up. With a little more time and trust, I’ll happily let you scoop me up for some cozy snuggles.   With Dogs:  I get along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes! I’m a true peacemaker — even if another dog isn’t very nice to me, I’ll simply walk away to keep the peace. Making new furry friends is one of my favorite things, and I’m super easygoing; I don’t guard my food and happily share my space with others.   With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, but with a slow and thoughtful introduction, I think I could learn to live peacefully with a feline friend.   ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES I have a moderate energy level and love finding the perfect balance between adventurous outdoor explorations and cozy, peaceful moments spent relaxing indoors. Whether I’m sniffing new scents on a gentle walk or curling up in a sunny spot at home, I’m happy as long as I’m with you.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk nicely on leash and do a great job following my handler’s lead. I love taking my time to do some important sniff inspections—when something catches my nose, I’ll pause to check it out! I’m easygoing when it comes to food and don’t guard it from people or other dogs. I’m also a quiet companion—I rarely bark and know how to rest calmly in my kennel when it’s time to relax.   I prefer doing my business outside, so I’d love to keep that routine with my new family. I’m carrying a little extra weight at the moment (a bit of a chubby cutie!), so I’ll need some help managing it to stay healthy and active for the long run. But don’t worry—my extra fluff doesn’t slow me down! I still run with joy and enthusiasm, ready to make the most of every moment.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:   - A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment. - A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors. - A family that can shower me with love and attention. - A family who will help me manage my weight so I can stay happy, healthy, and full of energy!   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a gentle, sweet soul who gets along wonderfully with both people and other dogs. I know this is just the beginning for me — once I meet my forever family, I’m confident I’ll continue to grow and shine into the best boy I can be. I’m ready to give and receive all the love in the world. My left ear is chipped away from an old injury, but it’s just part of my story and charm. Volunteers and staff say I have many traits of a Welsh Corgi, and while I may be a little chubby right now, I actually have a modest appetite — so with a bit of support, weight management should be a breeze. All I need now is a family to call my own.   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here! Choco’s Playlist ##2446637##
