Story
Kodi is a 10-year-old small terrier mix with a black coat, a perfectly frosted nose, and absolutely no idea that he’s considered a “senior.” He’s got the energy of a dog years younger and keeps up just fine with his much younger foster siblings.Kodi loves his people. Like… loves them. If you’re in a room, he will be too. If you’re sitting, he’s beside you. If you’re lying down, expect kisses. About 95% of his time is spent being with his humans; the other 5% is split between sleeping in the bed, destroying toys (mini-terrier style), and waiting for dinner like it’s the most important event of the day.He is crate trained, potty trained (the few accidents were human error, not his), knows “sit,” and walks nicely on leash. He enjoys his walks, is easy to leash, and greets new people and dogs with enthusiasm. He can be a little barky and extra friendly at first, but it’s all just excitement — he genuinely wants to be everyone’s best friend.Kodi has no behavioral issues and a whole lot of love to give. He hasn’t met cats yet, but given his size and friendly nature, a confident cat would likely roll their eyes and move on.If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a professional cuddle bug, and a dog who will celebrate your return home like it’s the best moment of his life, Kodi is ready to sign up for forever. If you’d like to take Kodi home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $150 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!

Story
Hobbs is a 4-year-old, 11-pound mixed breed who is equal parts adorable and gentle soul. He looks like a little blend of Shih Tzu, Poodle, and Schnauzer, with a tan-and-gray coat and the sweetest expression. He may be petite, but his heart is big.Hobbs came to us as a stray and needed a little time to find his confidence — and wow, has he blossomed. He’s now a total love bug who enjoys cuddles, kisses, being picked up, and simply being near his people. He’s the kind of dog who quietly watches from his cozy bed, always wanting to be close. He also does wonderfully with other dogs and would love a canine friend. He’s gentle with cats, playful without being rough, and shares toys, food, and space beautifully.Hobbs loves slow, sniff-filled walks (not a power walker!), warm fluffy beds, stuffed toys, and collecting his “treasures” — treats, toys, or the occasional sock — and bringing them back to his home base. Cheese and grilled chicken are his ultimate motivators. He’s mostly housebroken with a consistent routine, sleeps in his crate at night, and comes when called. Hobbs thrives with routine and would be happiest in a calm home where things stay fairly predictable.Hobbs would also do best in a home where he has companionship — human, canine, or both — and where his gentle, sensitive nature can be appreciated. He is healthy, sweet, and ready to be someone’s very loyal little shadow. If you’re looking for a soft, affectionate dog who just wants to love and be loved, Hobbs might be your guy.If you’d like to take Hobbs home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $300 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. Story
Luna is almost 7. We adopted her ~3 years ago. She jumped right into our laps. Since then, we've enjoyed countless hours of love and cuddles with her. The hard part: Luna has *severe* separation anxiety (barking). Over the past 3 years, we've tried behavioral intervention programs & medications. She's always had a village around to care for her. We love this little dog with all our hearts but we've run out of options for constant pet care, strategies for addressing her anxieties, and financial flexibility. Luna needs people with some or all of the following: 24/7 access to dogsitters and/or WFH, family/community that can pitch in, and a deep well of patience. Something that's vital is that she does not do well in a city environment - too much stimulus. She requires a rural or quiet suburban home to have peace of mind. Although she has no shortage of anxieties, Luna is overflowing with love and affection for people. We hope you'll consider being her new family.
