Story
We added Snickers to our family when he was 3 months old in 2010. He has lived with a cat for 13 years with no issues. He has lived with men and women of all ages including infants and children. As he gets older (he is now 15 years old) he requires a little more attention than we are able to provide lately. He has slight vision impairment and hearing loss. He is still able to climb up and down steps and eats all of his dry food with no problem! He does not like being picked up due to an injury sustained when he was a puppy. He loves running around and exploring a fenced in space and also lounging around and napping during the day.

Story
Oreo Pie got his name because he’s truly sweet as pie. Before being rescued, this little guy was abandoned in a backyard, tied to a tree, and survived thanks to kind neighbors who fed him for a month. When his foster mama saved him, he was severely matted and had to be shaved down to the skin. Since then, he’s learned what it feels like to be safe, loved, and comfortable—and now he happily snores the day away in his doggie bed. Oreo Pie hasn’t met a person he doesn’t adore and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and an easy-going, laid-back little man who LOVES food. If he’s hungry (or thinks you’re moving too slow), he’ll let you know—and may even bring you his food bowl as a reminder! Oreo Pie will require regular, lifelong grooming to keep him comfortable and mat-free, but he’s absolutely worth it. This sweet boy is ready for a forever family to spoil him the way he deserves. Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area)

Story
ZOE! - Saved from neglect, this little angel is deserving of a loving furever home! Zoe's been through a lot in her 8 yrs - She hadn't been groomed for years (her makeover transformed her!), and lost an ear due to a rubber band that was used instead of grooming. And she is Blind! Despite being terrified and in pain during her recovery she has shown her resilience while with her foster. She eats and drinks well and has been using pee pads she goes over to in her pen (she still is nervous outside in a leash). Due to being Blind a calmer household is best for her. She should be in a single family home because she is a barker due to the lack of eyesight, it is her defense mechanism. Zoe is spayed, vaccinated, had flea prevention and dewormer. Other than being blind and her ear still on the mend (though she is finished with medicine), this 7.4 pound lady was determined to be healthy by a vet, so is now ready to settle in a safe loving furever home. If interested in Zoe put in an application to The Furry Paws Inn today!Zoe must go to a home in the state of Maryland. about 1.5 hrs from Joppa or less.

Story
This is Tyson, he was given to us by a close friend who moved to California, Tyson is 9 months , at the time we lived in a house so he was much more manageable and free, we recently moved to a condominium and we don't have as much space anymore as well as our whole family is extremely busy and we hardly have time for Tyson:( .we have had him for about 6-7 months and they have been great but have just gotten difficult, he’s also a very playful dog but he is a big dog.he’s also very kind and can be destructive but He is not aggressive at all. unfortunately we can no longer care for him and as the cold approaches we’re afraid we wont be able to take care of Tyson anymore. We are hoping to find a caring and very loving adoptive owner as soon as possible!

Story
Hi, I'm Katie Shih Tzu | Senior | Female | Small About Me Katie is a 14 yr old shih tzu mix that was rescued from the PG County animal shelter on 09/08/25. Sadly, her previous owner had taken her there for euthanasia but thankfully the shelter sent out a rescue plea instead. She is very low-maintenance – pretty much the only time you hear her is when it’s time for breakfast or dinner and even then, it’s just a low grumbling sound to let you know you aren’t moving fast enough! She’s like Mikey – she eats everything!! (If you know, you know..lol) Due to her limited vision, she will do best in a home with not many or no steps (unless they can be blocked off) and no young children as she is easily startled. She currently lives in a home with four small dogs and gets along with all of them but she will be fine as an only dog. As an older lady, she will probably do best with a family that is home most of the time to let her out for potty breaks. She will also require regular grooming. Katie will lay in your lap while you work or curl up next to you while you watch TV. She is such a sweet girl that will make you smile just from looking at her adorable little face and watching her tail wag when you say her name. Her appreciation for being given this second chance is coming through in her personality more and more each day. Come meet her, you will love her immediately! My Profile Age: 14 Weight: 9 Good with kids: Unknown Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard: No Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes House trained: Mostly Crate trained: No Chews inappropriate items: No Activity level: Low Special needs: Yes Meet Me If you are interested in Katie, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org/adopt. Story
Luna is almost 7. We adopted her ~3 years ago. She jumped right into our laps. Since then, we've enjoyed countless hours of love and cuddles with her. The hard part: Luna has *severe* separation anxiety (barking). Over the past 3 years, we've tried behavioral intervention programs & medications. She's always had a village around to care for her. We love this little dog with all our hearts but we've run out of options for constant pet care, strategies for addressing her anxieties, and financial flexibility. Luna needs people with some or all of the following: 24/7 access to dogsitters and/or WFH, family/community that can pitch in, and a deep well of patience. Something that's vital is that she does not do well in a city environment - too much stimulus. She requires a rural or quiet suburban home to have peace of mind. Although she has no shortage of anxieties, Luna is overflowing with love and affection for people. We hope you'll consider being her new family.

Story
Teeny Tiny is a petite pup who truly lives up to her name. At first, she’s a timid, shy girl who needs a little time and patience to feel safe in new places and around new people. But once she warms up, her gentle nature shines through—she shows just how sweet and loving she can be. Teeny loves curling up with her favorite stuffed toys, and when she’s feeling especially brave, she’ll nuzzle you softly for attention. Because she can be easily overwhelmed, Teeny Tiny would thrive in a calm home with older children who can understand her boundaries and give her the space she needs to blossom into her loving self.
