Story
Kodi is a 10-year-old small terrier mix with a black coat, a perfectly frosted nose, and absolutely no idea that he’s considered a “senior.” He’s got the energy of a dog years younger and keeps up just fine with his much younger foster siblings.Kodi loves his people. Like… loves them. If you’re in a room, he will be too. If you’re sitting, he’s beside you. If you’re lying down, expect kisses. About 95% of his time is spent being with his humans; the other 5% is split between sleeping in the bed, destroying toys (mini-terrier style), and waiting for dinner like it’s the most important event of the day.He is crate trained, potty trained (the few accidents were human error, not his), knows “sit,” and walks nicely on leash. He enjoys his walks, is easy to leash, and greets new people and dogs with enthusiasm. He can be a little barky and extra friendly at first, but it’s all just excitement — he genuinely wants to be everyone’s best friend.Kodi has no behavioral issues and a whole lot of love to give. He hasn’t met cats yet, but given his size and friendly nature, a confident cat would likely roll their eyes and move on.If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a professional cuddle bug, and a dog who will celebrate your return home like it’s the best moment of his life, Kodi is ready to sign up for forever. If you’d like to take Kodi home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $150 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!

Story
Bentley is a 5 year old adult dog and I acquired him through a private rehoming from a family in Baltimore County about 4.5 months ago. He is affectionate, intelligent, playful, and very people-oriented. He enjoys being close to his person, going on walks, car rides, and being involved in daily activities. He has a big personality and is very expressive. Bentley loves other dogs but is still learning social cues, such as recognizing when another dog wants to stop playing, due to limited socialization before coming to live with me. He does best in a home with regular engagement and supervision throughout the day and is not a dog who thrives with long periods of unsupervised independence. He's crate trained and finds comfort in going inside. Due to an unexpected change in my schedule, I am no longer able to provide the level of involvement he needs, I love him but am seeking a home that is a better long-term fit. He comes with a crate, toys, treats, food, his favorite blanket and more.

Story
ZOE! - Saved from neglect, this little angel is deserving of a loving furever home! Zoe's been through a lot in her 8 yrs - She hadn't been groomed for years (her makeover transformed her!), and lost an ear due to a rubber band that was used instead of grooming. And she is Blind! Despite being terrified and in pain during her recovery she has shown her resilience while with her foster. She eats and drinks well and has been using pee pads she goes over to in her pen (she still is nervous outside in a leash). Due to being Blind a calmer household is best for her. She should be in a single family home because she is a barker due to the lack of eyesight, it is her defense mechanism. Zoe is spayed, vaccinated, had flea prevention and dewormer. Other than being blind and her ear still on the mend (though she is finished with medicine), this 7.4 pound lady was determined to be healthy by a vet, so is now ready to settle in a safe loving furever home. If interested in Zoe put in an application to The Furry Paws Inn today!Zoe must go to a home in the state of Maryland. about 1.5 hrs from Joppa or less.

✨🐾 Meet Little Bit — Proof That the Best Things Come in Tiny, Fluffy Packages 🐾✨ (4 Years Old • Shih Tzu • 9 lbs • Male • Professional Shadow) If you’ve ever thought, “I’d really like a dog who quietly follows me around like a very cute cloud,” then Little Bit is about to be your dream come true. At just 9 pounds and 4 years old, Little Bit is sweet, gentle, and delightfully low-key. He’s the kind of pup who prefers soft beds, kind humans, and being exactly wherever you are — no chaos, no drama, no unnecessary barking commentary. Despite being surrendered for being “too energetic” (allegedly 🙃), Little Bit has shown us nothing but calm, quiet manners. Here, he’s more low to very medium energy — playful when invited, content to lounge when not, and always happy just to be included. His only “crime” was lightly chasing porch cats, which he would like the court to note was non-threatening...just a little, I wanta say 'hello'. 🐶 Little Bit’s Best Features: • Very sweet & submissive — gentle soul alert • Great with other dogs and respectful of everyone’s space • Not much of a barker — strong “peace and quiet” energy • Playful but not demanding — he reads the room like a pro • Small, delicate, and affectionate (handle with love & cuddles) Because he’s petite and submissive, Little Bit would do best in a home without small children — not because he’s grumpy, but because he’s more “porcelain teacup” than “rough-and-tumble toy.” He’d be perfect for someone looking for a loyal companion, a quiet buddy, or a furry little shadow who wants to be part of your daily routine. If you’re looking for a dog who will follow you from room to room, sit politely nearby, and occasionally remind you how adorable life can be… 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Little Bit is ready to be your tiny bestest furry friend. 🐾💖

Story
This is Tyson, he was given to us by a close friend who moved to California, Tyson is 9 months , at the time we lived in a house so he was much more manageable and free, we recently moved to a condominium and we don't have as much space anymore as well as our whole family is extremely busy and we hardly have time for Tyson:( .we have had him for about 6-7 months and they have been great but have just gotten difficult, he’s also a very playful dog but he is a big dog.he’s also very kind and can be destructive but He is not aggressive at all. unfortunately we can no longer care for him and as the cold approaches we’re afraid we wont be able to take care of Tyson anymore. We are hoping to find a caring and very loving adoptive owner as soon as possible!

Story
'Nauti' Girl!MEET VALENCIA!   This little lady’s world was rocked earlier in December when her owner was deported and she found herself scared and alone in the shelter. The outpouring of empathy and support for her and her situation was heartwarming, and she quickly found her way into a very experienced foster home with four other small dogs (some of whom had had similar, stressful backgrounds) and multiple cats. There she has had the time to settle, destress and come to life again. She is now back to what we believe is her true-self; a playful little gal who will roll over for tummy rubs for her (adult) human and play with her toys to entertain herself. Her favorite is stealing a nautical rope ball her foster mom has on a table, thus “Nauti” girl. Ha!   Valencia is bi-lingual having come to Tara’s House familiar with basic commands in Spanish and is picking up their English translations (Sit and Down, for instance). She enjoys hanging out with and playing with her foster-siblings, both canine and feline varieties. She sleeps through the night and has gone into an open crate to rest on her own several times (although she is not crated otherwise.)     Valencia has had some stress in her life and it sometimes manifests in her being fearful of new people (or even people who aren’t her main care-giver). She should not go to a home with children (most small dogs shouldn’t) and would do best in a home that can give her consistency as well as love. We think she would do best with another small dog in the home, as she could use the confidence that a canine relationship can bring and she seems to genuinely like other dogs. She is fearful at times so needs a strong leader that can show her that her human has things under control.   Valencia’s adoption donation fee is $450, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for her by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.January 3, 2026, 1:16 pm
