Story
Meet Rocky: part Shih-Tzu, part pogo stick, part adventure enthusiast 🚀🐾 Rocky is a 3-year-old Shih-Tzu mix weighing about 12 pounds, and is described by Foster mom as exuberant. This boy approaches life with maximum enthusiasm, whether he's exploring the great outdoors, greeting his people, or attempting to launch himself into your arms for kisses. Rocky can jump an impressive 4–5 feet straight into the air. NBA scouts, take note. Rocky is an absolute lovebug who will immediately flop over for belly rubs and happily soak up all the affection you can offer. He also LOVES to explore and sniff absolutely everything. A walk with Rocky isn't just a walk—it's an investigative mission. He would thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise, daily walks, and/or a securely supervised yard to zoom around in. Emphasis on supervised. Between his curiosity and his impressive vertical leap, Rocky should not be left unattended outside, even in a fenced yard. While Rocky has been a perfect gentleman in foster care—quiet, easygoing, and happy to relax in his crate—he's still polishing a few life skills. He's likely not fully house trained yet, though he does very well when kept on a routine and appears to be crate trained. He’d likely walk best in a harness, as excitement occasionally causes him to enthusiastically launch himself to the end of the leash. Toys haven't made much of an impression on Rocky, but he does have a beloved teddy bear that he sleeps with every night, which is almost too adorable for words. He's also a total gentleman at mealtime, politely waiting by his bowl and taking treats with perfect manners. Rocky has shown interest in the resident dog, but in classic Shih-Tzu fashion, he has a confident, somewhat dominant personality. He would do best with experienced adopters who can provide thoughtful introductions to any resident pets. Because of his enthusiasm, athleticism, and tendency to jump for joy, a home with older, dog-savvy children (7+) would be ideal. If you're looking for a sweet, hilarious, energetic companion who will keep you laughing, keep you active, and shower you with affection, Rocky is ready to bounce—literally—right into your heart. 💙🐾 If you are interested in finding out more about Rocky, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Rocky is being fostered in Whitinsville, MA. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Milo Too 🐾Milo Too is a 6-year-old, 20-pound Schnauzer/Shih Tzu mix who is adjusting to life in foster care after a major life change. After three weeks, he's beginning to show his sweet personality and settle into a routine.Milo has a moderate energy level and enjoys exploring a fenced yard and playing with squeaky toys. He is house-trained and does well in an exercise pen when unsupervised, as he is not a fan of crates.Milo lived with a retired couple and had limited exposure to children. He currently lives with small dogs but prefers human attention and may do best as an only dog. He also has a typical Schnauzer prey drive, so a cat-free home is recommended.Milo can be reactive to new people and activity, often barking at delivery people and becoming anxious on walks. He will need a patient adopter committed to helping him build confidence and improve leash manners through training.Ideal home: A quiet, suburban or rural home with a fenced yard and a calm, consistent routine.Milo is a sensitive, loyal companion who needs time, patience, and love to shine truly. 💛If you are interested in finding out more about Milo Too, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser:https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/DogMilo Too is being fostered in Central MassThe adoption fee is $500Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!.Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram!Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.
