Story
Sassy is looking for a loving home. This sweet senior girl was surrendered to a shelter when her owner fell ill and could no longer care for her. We brought Sassy to our rescue in December, and since day one, she has been an absolute sweetheart. Sassy is 13 years old and weighs 11 pounds. She is a very calm, easy going girl. She gets along well with all the dogs and people she's met. She's very docile; we imagine she'll be more comfortable in a calmer environment with a family that just wants to love her and keep her cozy. She has a grade 3 heart murmur, which does not require any medication at this time, but she'll need an echocardiogram in 6 months to recheck. Sassy had infections in both ears and needed drops, as well as ointment for her eyes. She's feeling much better, but her future family should monitor her for recurring ear infections. Sassy is eating a prescription kidney diet due to protein found in her urine. She loves food, and we have not observed any food guarding. If you're interested in adopting Sassy, please submit an application at https://www.vintagepetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Berries n Cream is a lovely pup who is spending time in a foster home as we work on managing her KCS, also known as dry eye`. She is a sweet girl who is very wary of being touched around her eyes and face due to her eyes not receiving the treatment she needed. Berries is tolerant of other small, calm dogs and would do well in a quiet home. She recently had special implants put into her eyes that will dispense medication that will help limit the amount of medications she will need temporarily while we desensitize her to being touched around her face. She is already responding well to treatment and allowing her foster to touch around her face more. We hope to transition her to an adopter who will take this over. She will need lifelong eye drops, so needs an adopter with a good releationship with their veterinarian to continue her eye treatment. If you are interested in taking over her foster care as a trial adoption, please reach out to us at forms@lowellhumanesociety.org for more info.

Story
Meet Milo — almost 2 years old, Maltese mix, and professionally adorable. 🐾 Milo is the kind of dog who gets along with everyone. Kids? Big fan. Other dogs? Absolutely. He’s friendly, easygoing, and seems to believe the world is one big group hangout he was invited to. If you’re looking for a sweet, social little sidekick who fits right into family life and makes friends wherever he goes, Milo is ready to move in and steal your heart (and probably your spot on the couch). 💕 If you are interested in finding out more about Milo #2, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Milo #2 is being fostered in Hopedale, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Callisto — an 8-pound, 1-year-old Lhasa Apso mix who appears to be powered by zoomies, squeaky toys, and pure enthusiasm for existence. 🚀🐾 At just 1 year old, this Lhasa Apso mix is basically a jumping bean who briefly pauses her parkour activities for cuddles and checking in on her human before resuming liftoff. She’s a pro at: • Couch parkour • Stuffed-toy wrestling • Snow zoomies • Claiming laps as her personal property Potty training is going great, and foster mom is helping her learn that human hands are not chew toys (squeakers = yes, fingers = no). She’s happy to greet new friends on the floor, but if you’re holding her? Congratulations, you’ve been chosen. She may feel the need to announce that you belong to her now. Callisto would thrive with an adopter who appreciates a spirited and affectionate pup who loves hard, plays harder, and believes laps are a limited resource worth protecting. If you’re ready for nonstop laughs, endless cuddles, and an 8-pound blur of joy, Callisto is ready to bounce straight into your heart. 💥💛 If you are interested in finding out more about Callisto, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Callisto is being fostered in Auburn, MA.
