Panda is a 3-year-old male Shih Tzu mix and a charming tripod who’s ready for his forever home. He was rehomed twice and ultimately surrendered to Broken Tail Rescue after his second owner failed to provide proper care; now he’s recovering and looking for a loving, stable family. Medically, Panda recently underwent a sedated groom to remove severe matting, had X‑rays and bloodwork completed, and recovered from a right-rear leg amputation. Because of his amputation, Panda should be carried up and down full sets of interior stairs. Personality-wise, Panda is affectionate and gentle, preferring to be near people; he’s not a big barker but will cry if left alone. He walks well on leash, is housetrained with a schedule, and gets along with other small dogs. Panda’s ideal home would be with someone who works from home, an active retiree, or a multi-generational household — a calm, patient family ready to give him the consistency and closeness he loves. Because of Panda’s amputation, single-floor living is most desirable. Panda is up to date on immunizations and is on a 12-month heartworm prevention protocol. Panda is fostering in Central Massachusetts.
