Meet Milo Too 🐾Milo Too is a 6-year-old, 20-pound Schnauzer/Shih Tzu mix who is adjusting to life in foster care after a major life change. After three weeks, he's beginning to show his sweet personality and settle into a routine.Milo has a moderate energy level and enjoys exploring a fenced yard and playing with squeaky toys. He is house-trained and does well in an exercise pen when unsupervised, as he is not a fan of crates.Milo lived with a retired couple and had limited exposure to children. He currently lives with small dogs but prefers human attention and may do best as an only dog. He also has a typical Schnauzer prey drive, so a cat-free home is recommended.Milo can be reactive to new people and activity, often barking at delivery people and becoming anxious on walks. He’s smart, expressive, hilarious, and full of opinions — and once you earn his trust, he’s an incredibly fun and loyal little companion. Mister loves to play, has endless energy for adventures and enrichment, and is always ready to work for snacks (which is great, because this clever guy is eager to learn!). He’ll happily jump into your lap for attention once he knows you’re part of his circle. 💜 Mister is looking for a very special home that understands dogs with big feelings. He came from a neglectful situation last winter and missed out on important early socialization and life experiences, so the world can still feel overwhelming to him at times. Because of this, Mister is searching for an adult-only, dog-experienced home that is committed to positive reinforcement training and helping him continue to build confidence. He has a big voice and likes his privacy — unfamiliar people and dogs are something he’ll absolutely let you know about! A quiet neighborhood with a fenced yard would be ideal for him so he can feel safe and comfortable. Mister is currently looking for a solo pet home while we continue learning more about him around other dogs, and he is not a fit for cats. He can become overstimulated when excited and may use his mouth during play, so he needs adopters who are comfortable managing and redirecting mouthy behavior appropriately. Mister also has some resource guarding tendencies with things he believes are “his,” so he will need experienced adopters who understand management, structure, and positive reinforcement training. He gets nervous with handling and grooming as well. Due to his coat, regular grooming is essential, but it’s not something he’s currently comfortable with. His future family should be prepared to work closely with a trainer and groomer to help him feel safer during grooming experiences and be open to sedated grooming when needed to keep him healthy and comfortable. Mister currently takes daily anxiety medication, which has been very helpful for him, and he’s looking for adopters committed to continuing that support. He needs patient people who will respect his boundaries, move at his pace, and celebrate the little wins along the way. Milly is a very gentle, loving little girl that deserves a forever lap to call her own. Milly is approximately 6-7 years old and looks to be a pure bred shihtzu. She does not shed. This girl loves to hang out around the house, relax, nap, and just be with her foster mom. Milly gets along great with other dogs and lives happily with cats. She would not mind living in a home with other *CALM* animals or living alone. She is not attached to any dogs in the home. She is very easy-going. We have learned Milly is VERY scared of anything super loud – thunderstorms, lightning and fireworks. She goes from super relaxed to so so scared quickly. Please PLEASE make sure you understand that she will need extra help during storms and specific holidays. We think she can even sense bad weather because sometimes before a storm she will get very nervous and start pacing and looking worried. While we do not know her history, sometimes she will wake up crying at night. We don’t know what happened to her or what caused this, but with some sweet talks and pets, she goes right back to sleep. She sleeps in a crate but would prefer to sleep in a bed. Milly is a good with children, but she would prefer children that like to cuddle and watch tv more than be crazy. She pretty much knows how to walk on a leash and would be great with someone who can take her on short walks. Milly will require regular grooming – please take this into consideration before applying. We would love to find Milly that home she has always wanted. Please consider giving it to her. Milly is fixed, current on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, current on dewormer, current on flea tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption The adoption fee listed ($745) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the location where this animal is posted in.
