Meet Gina! Gina is a female, 6 year old, Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She is overweight at 95 pounds.Gina arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender. She is described as a wonderful family dog! Reportedly, she is house trained and partially crate trained. Gina is playful, confident, loves to play with toys and balls, does well in the car, walks well on leash, does well with strangers, does well with women and men, knows her basic cues, and stays in a fenced yard. She is very overweight, and will need to be put on a diet and will need to receive regular exercise to help her lose weight and live her longest, healthiest, and best life! Gina is a really great girl who will make an excellent companion for a lucky family!Gina will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how she will do with cats.Gina is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today!The shelter is currently open by appointment only.
