Story
Meet Kal-El! Kal-El is a male, 3 year old, Labrador Retriever blend. He is 63 pounds.Kal-El arrived at the shelter from an overcrowded Texas shelter. Kal-El is described as a friendly boy! While in Texas, he lived in a foster home with 9 other dogs, all ranging from a 15 year old dog to a 10 month old dog. He will need a home with no small animals, including small dogs, as he does best with bigger dogs. He loves to cuddle, go on car rides, play with other dogs and with toys. He loves to use his nose to find anything yummy, and would really like a home who can give him lots of enrichment where he can use that fine sense! He can't wait to meet his new forever family!Kal-El will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a staff-assisted meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how he will do with cats.Kal-El is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and ready to go home today! The shelter is currently open by appointment only. Story
Meet Nibbler! Nibbler is a male, 4-year-old, Labrador Retriever and Australian Shepherd blend. He is a bit thin at 42 pounds.Nibbler arrived at the shelter as a stray. When he was first brought in, he was in rough shape. He was underweight, unable to keep any food down, and he was very scared. Luckily, Nibbler got some much needed TLC and he is feeling much better! It doesn't seem as though Nibbler has had much exposure to new things, but he is very sweet and loving and will roll over for belly rubs any chance he gets! He did well with his finder's two dogs, and he has shown very friendly interest in other dogs here at the shelter.Nibbler will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. Meet Hank! Hank is a male, 1.5 year old, Labrador Retriever blend. He is 56 pounds.Hank arrived at the shelter as a stray. Here at the shelter, he is pretty scared, but likes gentle pets, hot dogs, and being outside! We've learned that he knows sit, and with the right treat, training should be really fun and rewarding with him! He will need time to warm up to new people and in his forever home, but give him that time, and he's likely to be a fun and goofy boy! He can't wait to meet his new forever family!Hank will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping.
