You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Rufus is looking for a kind and gentle peron who will understand that he was a good boy all his life and thought he would live that life out with his person. Sadly, his person has had to go into assisted living and Rufus was not invited to join him. He is totally confused and doesn't understand what has happened to the world he knew. Older now, it is harder for him to start again, but he is so deserving of this chance. He doesn't know he did nothing wrong and can't even imagine someone loving him again. You could be that person.Please note that he is good with other dogs who are calm and nervous around jumpy, bouncy dogs. He waits to see what each day brings him. We hope it will be happiness. You could make such a difference.A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: 'He is doing great! He does great with us now. He loves treats & chasing water from the hose. He tries to bite the water. He loves the game. The ideal situation would be a one dog home. Maybe someone older, since he was used to that, but I think he would do well with anyone.'
