Story
Calvin is a 1 year old male Wire-haired Standard Dachshund mix, who is a shy but super sweet boy! Although initially unsure with new people, once he knows you, he loves you completely! Calvin has a precious way of snuggling into you so that he can be close and feel safe in your arms. After all, a noisy shelter can be a scary place for young pups! Calvin is fairly mild-mannered and simply loves being with his people. He enjoys going on walks together, and keeps at a reasonable pace so that he can stay close by your side. Once he is in the park, he enjoys exploring scents or showing off his fun playful side, although he will quickly return to be near you. Calvin is a handsome dog with a unique appearance - his legs are longer than his breed, such that he is shaped more like a Lab. But he does sport an adorable “beard”, which gives him a look that is SO hard to resist! And why should you? Calvin is patiently waiting for his forever home and family … people who will give him all the love and affection that he deserves. Is that you? Be sure to meet Calvin soon, and find out! The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Story
This boy is named Bratwurst. A one-year-old Dachshund mix in a short black and tan coat, he's only about 15 pounds. Because of his size, if you have small children in the home, please make sure that they are experienced with dogs this size. Bratwurst has a great personality; he not only gets along with other dogs, but he likes cats, too! He would be a fine little dog to have around! (posted 6/6/25, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **June 7, 2025, 7:55 pm

Story
Meet Andouille, a 7-month-old Dachshund mix with a with a wonderful personality. He presently weighs 11 pounds; and will mature to only around15 pounds. (Because of his small size, he should not be in a house with small children unless they are experienced with handling small dogs.) This is a boy who is good with cats as well as other dogs. He's very playful and outgoing, but when naptime comes, he's ready to plop down into puppy dreams! What a delight he is!
