Story
Here is a boy with quite a story. Budd is a 3-year-old Dachshund mix weighing 30 pounds. He came to us having been saved from euthanasia. You see, his hind legs were paralyzed and not everyone thought he could have a good life this way. Well, we in rescue have other ideas! In fact, we’ve been working with him and Budd has made a lot of progress that his foster would be happy to tell you about. But Budd is more than a guy with special needs. He’s a regular fella, too! He’s good with dogs of all sizes, loves dog beds and chew bones and is a boy with high energy! The most wonderful thing about Budd is that he’s always happy! You will be, too, if you make him yours! (posted 9/11/26, ME) ' 'Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $170.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **September 15, 2026, 4:44 pm

Story
Meet Cookie ❤️ It is with very heavy hearts that our family is looking for the perfect retirement home for our sweet girl, Cookie. This is one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make. Cookie has been part of our family since our son was just 5 years old. He is now 21, and she has spent nearly her entire life surrounded by our love. As life has changed, so have our schedules. We are now empty nesters with demanding careers and ministry responsibilities that often keep us away from home for 10 or more hours each day. Cookie deserves more companionship, attention, and time than we're able to give her. While we've explored options like dog walkers, living in a rural area has made that very difficult. Cookie is a gentle, loving senior dog who enjoys the simple things in life. She's slowed down with age and would thrive in a calm, peaceful home where someone is around more often. We believe she'd be happiest with a retired individual or couple, or a family with a slower pace of life.
