Ginger came to us in horrific condition, barely hanging on herself while doing everything she could to keep her puppies alive. She had been failed terribly by humans, but you’d never know it by the dog she is today. Ginger has made a full recovery, left that awful past behind her, and turned into the BEST little girl with a huge personality and an even bigger love for life. She’s a pint-sized powerhouse who believes everything should be done at full speed. Zoomies in the yard, toys, chew bones, car rides, adventures... Ginger is here for ALL of it. Ginger is dog friendly and cat friendly. She loves playing with other dogs and can be an enthusiastic playmate, so a canine buddy who appreciates her energy would be a great match. She also respects the cats in her foster home and has adapted beautifully to being an indoor dog. She is completely house trained, crate trained, doing great on a leash and harness, and very food motivated, which makes training pretty easy. She loves being with her people but also has an independent side and is perfectly happy entertaining herself when everyone else has had enough of her shenanigans. Ginger can be vocal, jumpy, and a little mouthy when she gets excited, so a home without small children would be best. Her foster says she has been surprisingly easy to have around. Considering everything this girl survived, watching her become this happy, goofy, confident little dog has been pretty incredible. Her past may have been awful, but Ginger doesn't live there anymore. Blacky is a sweet shy boy at first. He is playful and warms up once he knows you are someone he can trust. Would make a great running buddy. He comes from the same horrible hoarder situation and had to fight for food so he is still reactive to other dogs at feeding time. Here is a boy with quite a story. Budd is a 3-year-old Dachshund mix weighing 30 pounds. He came to us having been saved from euthanasia. You see, his hind legs were paralyzed and not everyone thought he could have a good life this way. Well, we in rescue have other ideas! In fact, we’ve been working with him and Budd has made a lot of progress that his foster would be happy to tell you about. But Budd is more than a guy with special needs. He’s a regular fella, too! He’s good with dogs of all sizes, loves dog beds and chew bones and is a boy with high energy! The most wonderful thing about Budd is that he’s always happy! You will be, too, if you make him yours! Thank you for your interest in Jonah! He's getting scruffy and will get scruffier in the months ahead! Jonah Lives in Montevallo area Foster Home with his mom and his littermates. He is fostered with two older kittens and they all play together! Jonah is 12 weeks old and 3.5-4 pounds. He is the longest in his litter showing that he definitely has some dachshund in his DNA. He's a real sweetheart! Jonah is potty pad trained, and he won't have any problems learning with the grasses for. He has pottied outside in the yard. Jonah is too young and too small to be fully vetted. Adopter will sign a contract to have Jonah at our vet when he is older and bigger for his neuter. Adoption includes neuter when older, rabies when older, puppy vaccines and boosters, microchip, multiple dewormings, and Jonah receives parasite prevention. $400 adoption fee for the loving puppy. Wayne is a super sweet little man. He is a little excited and anxious at first meeting new people due to his past trauma but once he gets to know you he is quite the love bug. He also came from the hoarder rescue but has made a beautiful recovery. Unfortunately Wayne get muscular seizures when he gets too excited but needs no medication as of now. Wayne is a velcro dog that wants nothing but to be held and loved all day.

Say anything to him and he'll tilt that head like he's hanging on every word.He's very much a velcro dog. He loves being close to his people and thrives on attention, so he needs a home where someone is around a lot and can give him the time and company he deserves. I love him dearly, but I can't give him that right now, and he deserves better than "not enough."Full disclosure: he has an occasional indoor accident.
