Story
Hi there! My name is Lily Rose and I'm a 2 Year old Female Dachshund/Chihuahua. I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I like to describe myself as a flower I'm beautiful, delicate but strong, and need a little bit of time to bloom. I love my slow walks where I can enjoy all the site and smells the world has to offer. As much I enjoy my leisurely strolls, I can also a fun game of toss the stuffie and play with my tiny tug toys. Just as I previously mentioned my personality might take a little bit of time to bloom but once I do I'm as beautiful as a rose. Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!

Story
Phil is a 2-year-old Dachshund/Pit Bull mix who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. He can appear timid and unsure of his surroundings and is very skittish with fast movements. When frightened, Phil may react defensively, so he’s looking for a calm, experienced home that understands fearful dogs and is willing to move at his pace. The good news? Phil has already shown how much progress he’s capable of making. In just a few days, he has eased up significantly, allowing gentle petting and handling without incident and happily taking treats from hands. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Phil continues to build trust and confidence.Phil will do best in a quiet home with adults or older teens, where routines are predictable and introductions are slow and respectful. Once he feels safe, he shows that he truly wants connection, he just needs someone willing to give him the time and understanding he deserves.

Story
Favorite activities: playing tug, cuddling, sunbathing Quirks: sneezes when she's excited, makes a funny noise when she stretches, her ears fly in the wind Boop is a sweet, loving dog who only wants two things: to cuddle up next to you and to play tug. I adopted Boop a year ago, and she has brought so much joy and love into my life. Unfortunately, my lifestyle is too stressful for her and she needs a quiet home with someone who will continue her training. Like many shelter dogs she is reactive and has mild separation anxiety, but she has improved a lot through positive reinforcement training and has shown that in the right environment she is very calm. She has lived happily with other dogs and cats, and does well at doggie daycare. But she gets protective of her humans around unfamiliar people and pets. Her exercise needs are low, she is very happy with one short walk and a little play time each day. She has a hard time with small children.
