Story
Hi there! My name is Lily Rose and I'm a 2 Year old Female Dachshund/Chihuahua. I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!

Story
Phil is a 2-year-old Dachshund/Pit Bull mix who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. He can appear timid and unsure of his surroundings and is very skittish with fast movements. When frightened, Phil may react defensively, so he’s looking for a calm, experienced home that understands fearful dogs and is willing to move at his pace. The good news? Phil has already shown how much progress he’s capable of making. In just a few days, he has eased up significantly, allowing gentle petting and handling without incident and happily taking treats from hands. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Phil continues to build trust and confidence.Phil will do best in a quiet home with adults or older teens, where routines are predictable and introductions are slow and respectful. Once he feels safe, he shows that he truly wants connection, he just needs someone willing to give him the time and understanding he deserves.

Story
Zeke is a playful, affectionate little guy who loves walks, toys, and especially fetch. He bonds quickly, enjoys lounging on the couch, and will happily sleep at your feet. He’s great with other dogs, warms up to new people, and he’s surprisingly well-behaved in public — he loves restaurants and going out on the town. Mostly potty trained, crate- and car-friendly (window views are his thing), and tolerant of grooming. He pulls a bit on leash but is learning fast. His previous owner passed away, but he’s thriving and ready for a forever home.

Story
Meet Honey – A Sweetheart Looking for Her Forever Home! Honey is a beautiful 2-year-old, 35-pound pocket pittie with a heart full of love. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she’s incredibly sweet and affectionate. This special girl walks well on a leash and has a moderate energy level—she enjoys her daily strolls and exploring the yard. Honey had an injury as a puppy that gives her a unique gait, and she also experiences some incontinence. However, she’s making great progress with potty training and will go outside when taken out frequently. Honey would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can safely explore. She would do best as an only pet or with a calm dog of similar size. No cats or small dogs, please. Due to her needs, a home with children aged 12 and up is preferred. Honey is ready to find a patient, loving family who will cherish her for the special dog she is. Could that be you? Fill out an application today and meet this sweet girl!
