Story
Genie is a shy, sweet mature doxie mix who came to rescue with her three housemates after losing their home and owner to a house fire. One thing that's apparent about all of these girlies is that they have been generously overfed! Genie is now in foster and on a weight reduction diet to hopefully improve her overall health and long-term lifestyle. She also has some other minor skin and eye issues that are being treated as well. Genie is easy going and wonderful. She is a gentle, laid back girl that loves belly rubs and the soft pillow on YOUR bed! She does well with other dogs that respect her space, after slow introduction. She currently uses doggie door and doing well with house training. If you're not ready to relax, DON'T start petting her silky fur! She is a little shy at first until you earn her trust, then you will have a shadow! She enjoys the company of her foster mom, but is definitely a daddies girl!Genie's eye and skin issues are chronic conditions which will require medication for the rest of her life. Potential adopters should plan to work with their vet to continue her daily eye and skin medications as prescribed.

Trixie is a shy, sweet mature doxie mix who came to rescue with her three housemates after losing their home and owner to a house fire. One thing that's apparent about all of these girlies is that they have been generously overfed! Trixie is now on a weight reduction diet to hopefully improve her overall health and long-term lifestyle. Trixie possibly is the mama of her pack when she came in because let me tell you she does not put up with any foolishness from her foster brothers and sister and will quickly tell them the business. Trixie doesn't or hasn't found her favorite place yet. She likes the privacy of her crate, she'll sleep in the bed, she'll lay on the couch, and at the moment she is laying on the floor under the Christmas tree. However, one thing is for certain she will latch on to her person and won't leave their side.Cats? She shows little interest. Leash? She's ok.....once she learned what it was and for.Food? Her foster seen zero food aggression. Not interested in toys. Isn't doing well left alone. She'd really like someone who can be with her during the day. A work at home or retiree would be ideal.

Story
Chopper is a senior dachshund who was adopted back in August. He was surrendered recently because he did not do well with the other animals, both dogs and cats. We are not sure if this is recent or if there were changes in the household that bothered him. Whatever the reason, Chopper finds himself in need of a new family after 5 months of adoption. He is housebroken and crate trained and does well with most people, although children would not be recommended. They simply move too fast and have too much energy. Chopper is the OG Dachshund, so it would be great to have an adopter with Dachshund savvy. They are tiny but mighty. Come and meet Chopper 11 to 4 Tuesday through Saturday. He is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms.

Story
Meet this precious little Dachshund dream 💜This 2-year-old female Dachshund is as sweet as she looks — and those big brown eyes will melt you the second you meet her. She came into rescue after experiencing a prior back-end injury, which leaves her with some mild special needs, but it does nothing to slow down her love for life, people, and snacks. She is crate trained, appears to be house trained, and gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and every human she meets. She truly believes strangers are just friends she hasn’t been pet by yet. She also walks off-leash and stays close, happy just to be by your side. Her favorite things include: • Eating (enthusiastically)• Napping in cozy spots• Belly rubs and ear scratches (non-negotiable)• Going outside to potty• Being lovedShe’s a low-maintenance, big-hearted little girl who would thrive in a home ready to offer patience, understanding, and lots of affection. In return, she promises loyalty, cuddles, and that classic Dachshund devotion that makes them impossible to forget. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who just wants to be cherished, this sweet girl is ready to be your forever 🐾💕
