Wags Rescue welcomes little Mistletoe( Missy) Missy was born Christmas Eve, so she’s 4 mos old. She’s a beautiful mix of Dachshund and Chihuahua. She had a very loving home with a senior citizen, but became a little too much for the lady. We’ve welcomed her into our rescue. She’s now spayed, UTD on vaccines and microchipped. Shes now 7 lbs and should be about 12- 15 when grown . She’s crate trained and learning the harness, but will need a little more guidance. She’s mostly potty trained , but also needs continued training. Missy is active, all puppy, loving and very playful. You can apply at wags-rescue.org

According to his foster, Dobby is the perfect little gentleman.He is potty trained and good going in the kennel at night. At first, he didn't bark - in fact, he didn't bark for the entire first week in his foster home. Now that he is more confident and comfortable knowing he is safe, he barks for attention and wags his tail when barking. He's quite the happy little fellow and friendly too! He gets along with the other dogs (of all sizes) in his foster home, and hasn't met a person he doesn't like.He is pretty food motivated - so don't leave anything unattended for too long unless you're willing to share. He especially loves some homemade doggy ice cream. Don't let this little senior guy fool you - he may have some cataract issues, but he's quick! Dobby doesn't need a five second rule. He's still energetic too and likes to run around the back yard. Cue the Lion King soundtrack! Matata (and her sister Hakuna) are in da house! And what a pretty girl, Matata is! Weighing just under 25 lbs, Matata is a dachshund mix with beautiful tan markings. At first, we were thinking she was bonded to Hakuna, but we now know that they are just close sisters and can be adopted separately.Matata is a sweet cuddler! She is a little timid in new situations, doing a little shivering when first confronted with the unknown. She seems to get along with other dogs without problems, although she is very much a people dog. Her preference is to be wherever her human is - lying at your feet while you work or cuddling in your chair to watch the TV. Cats don't seem to be of much interest to her and she can ignore them. She does pretty well with housebreaking as long as you offer her outside breaks at regular intervals. She is working on her leash walking.

Wow! Who knew the world was so big? When you spend most of your young life in just a couple of rooms, there is so much to learn once you are on the outside. But I catch on pretty quick, so here is what I've learned so far: 1. Grass is great for rolling and running on. 2. People are good for scratching those parts I can't reach. 3. It's okay to fall asleep on someone's lap. 4. You can safely see a lot of the world if you keep your human close by on a leash. I'm still shy and happy to spend time at home learning to snuggle on the coach. But if you are more of an adventurous type, I would love the chance to follow a patient teacher into the wide world outside.
