Story
Golden years, golden heart! 💛Meet Fife! Fife is a 9-year-old dachshund mix weighing in at 25 lbs. This charming little guy is the definition of a gentle soul and is ready to spend his golden years soaking up love in a forever home.Fife is a laid-back boy who enjoys the simple things in life. He loves sunbathing in a cozy spot or lounging by your side. He’s a big fan of treats (seriously, they’re the way to his heart!) and happily keeps himself entertained with a good chew toy. His favorite place, though, is right next to you, soaking up belly rubs and snuggles.Fife has Addison’s disease, but don’t let that scare you. He’s thriving! With a simple routine of a monthly zycortal injection and a daily prednisone pill, he stays happy and healthy. Not to mention, he takes them like a champ! This sweet boy is both crate trained and potty trained. He’s great about letting you know when he needs to go outside and does best with regular potty breaks. He gets along well with other dogs, and occasionally gets the zoomies to play with his foster siblings. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids just yet.He loves to go on walks and walks nicely on a leash.Fife is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on regular heartworm prevention—he’s all ready to head home with you!If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion with a heart of gold, Fife might just be your perfect match.. if you’re interested in our sweet old man, please visit: www.pawsofadamscounty.com and complete an adoption applicationWhen applying, please answer each question completely and honestly. Story
🐾Schnitzel 🐾🐾Schnitzel is a spunky little Dachshund mix. He weighs about 3 adorable pounds, and is only about 9 weeks old. He came into rescue full of fleas and worms, which caused him to be underweight and covered in bites. He has been treated and putting on weight. He does have the start of cataracts in both eyes, but that does not slow him down. 🐾Schnitzel’s favorite things are playing, and then cuddling when he is done playing. He would be wonderful with kids. He gets along with other dogs (he doesn’t notice that they are bigger than him), but doesn’t understand why cats don’t want to play with him. He is doing wonderful with potty training. (Remember puppies do need frequent trips outside.) He is comfortable sleeping with his heartbeat stuffed snuggle pup, and spending unsupervised time in his crate. Leash walking will be a new skill for him, but he’ll get it. 🐾Schnitzel is now ready and willing to come into your home as a foster to adopt puppy. He has had his first vaccines, and is on heartworm prevention. When PAWS has facilitated all of his vaccines and his neuter, the adoption will be finalized. Follow the directions below, and little 🐾Schnitzel could be part of your family now!!If you are interested in fostering to adopt Schnitzel, please visit our website at www.pawsofadamscounty.com and submit an adoption application. Story
Hi! My name is Booger and I am 4 years old. I am a little guy that was adopted from the shelter as a puppy with my brother, Scooter, but unfortunately our owner can no longer care for us. I am a very shy boy that will take lots of patience and time to warm up to new people.. but if you're my person, I like to cuddle and play with stuffed and squeaky toys. I have lived with dogs and cats in my old home, but I am not recommended for children because of my very shy demeanor.Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!

Story
Alfie gets along well with other dogs, though like most dogs he has his own opinions about toy sharing and isn’t shy about voicing them with a growl if another dog gets a little too close to something he’s claimed.Alfie came to us after being left behind when his person moved out. His roommates didn’t want to take on his care, so one of them brought him to us instead. It wasn’t his fault, and he’s settling in and doing his best to figure out this new chapter. He’s still a bit timid and is just starting to get comfortable sitting on a lap for any length of time, so he’ll do best with adopters who can give him time and space to build trust at his own pace. He’s not completely potty trained and is actively working on it with his foster.Alfie is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, and treated for parasites. His adoption fee is $150.If Alfie sounds like the right fit for your home, please complete an application at www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt.If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. Story
Lucy is a very loving and cuddly dog. She loves kids and is very gentle around them. Other dogs and cats, she tends to play a lot! Which makes some animals cranky towards her. I've never seen her want to or ever hurt another animal, it can just to be too much. Shes almost a year old and very stubborn about potty training. I have a screen she can get out 24/7 but still goes in the house. She is very food driven, which is normal for her breed. Im a single mom with a special needs child that needs a lot of care. I got Lucy from someone that couldn't train her right away and I thought I would be able to handle it and have time, I just don't. If someone has more time and can give her full attention she will get it soon, I know. She's a great dog that needs more than I can give her at this time.
