Story
Golden years, golden heart! 💛Meet Fife! Fife is a 9-year-old dachshund mix weighing in at 25 lbs. This charming little guy is the definition of a gentle soul and is ready to spend his golden years soaking up love in a forever home.Fife is a laid-back boy who enjoys the simple things in life. He loves sunbathing in a cozy spot or lounging by your side. He’s a big fan of treats (seriously, they’re the way to his heart!) and happily keeps himself entertained with a good chew toy. His favorite place, though, is right next to you, soaking up belly rubs and snuggles.Fife has Addison’s disease, but don’t let that scare you. He’s thriving! With a simple routine of a monthly zycortal injection and a daily prednisone pill, he stays happy and healthy. Not to mention, he takes them like a champ! This sweet boy is both crate trained and potty trained. He’s great about letting you know when he needs to go outside and does best with regular potty breaks. He gets along well with other dogs, and occasionally gets the zoomies to play with his foster siblings. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids just yet.He loves to go on walks and walks nicely on a leash.Fife is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on regular heartworm prevention—he’s all ready to head home with you!If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion with a heart of gold, Fife might just be your perfect match.. if you’re interested in our sweet old man, please visit: www.pawsofadamscounty.com and complete an adoption applicationWhen applying, please answer each question completely and honestly. Story
Meet Buster aka Mr. Weenie! Buster is a classic dachshund—funny, stubborn, athletic, & full of personality! He’s shy when meeting new people, but once he trusts you, his goofy side shines. He’s an independent little guy who likes to build a relationship on his own terms rather than being an instant cuddle bug. His favorite hobby? Collecting toys! Buster will gather 10+ toys into a pile & proudly lay in the middle like a tiny dragon guarding his treasure. He loves stealing toys from his dog friends, but he isn’t aggressive over them—he just believes every toy belongs in his collection. Buster loves other dogs & his best friend is a 75-pound Labrador Retriever! He is not cat-friendly. Buster does have some resource guarding tendencies with his meals, so meal time should be managed separately from other dogs. He is comfortable taking treats around other pets, & if he starts to grumble while eating, a calm “no” helps him settle. Don’t let his little legs fool you—Buster is athletic & could be a fun candidate for Fast CAT, scent work, or modified agility with the right person. Like many dachshunds, he’s smart, stubborn, & will need continued positive reinforcement training. He has been doing wonderful with his leash manners although when he sees people walking towards him, he does pancake. Strangers can be a bit scary still.  Buster is a flight risk, so a secure fenced yard is a must. We are requiring another confident dog in the home for him that is gentle and not too hyper because it scares him. He’d do best with in a home without kids. If you’re looking for a hilarious little weenie with a big personality, a toy obsession, & the potential to be your next adventure buddy, Buster might be your guy! Please apply on our website. Www.trackingintheshadows.com   All the animals in the home must be up-to-date on core vaccines and spayed and neutered. We do not allow underground fences, and you must live within an hour of Mishawaka.  ##2783330##

Story
Hi! My name is Booger and I am 4 years old. I am a little guy that was adopted from the shelter as a puppy with my brother, Scooter, but unfortunately our owner can no longer care for us. I am a very shy boy that will take lots of patience and time to warm up to new people.. but if you're my person, I like to cuddle and play with stuffed and squeaky toys. I have lived with dogs and cats in my old home, but I am not recommended for children because of my very shy demeanor.Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!

Story
Rory is currently in a 10 week training program at Lakeland Correctional Facility.  She is available for adoption & will be ready to go home on 10/16/26.   Rory came to us after we humanely trapped her on the west side of Elkhart. She joined my home very fearful and unsure of people around her. She has slowly come out of her shell and is meeting new people much faster now.   Rory loves to play with all the dogs. Big and small it doesn't matter.  She is shy at the first intros.  Rory has been gaining confidence here with my dogs and has been a wonderful foster girl. In her free time you can find her playing with the other dogs, chewing on a bone or snoozing away in your lap.  She loves to snuggle.  She is currently fostered with a kiddo and after the first initial meet, shes been great with her!  I estimate her to be 6 months old and about 16 lbs. This girl also has built in springs in her legs.  Rory is still grasping the concept of house training and will need to be watched closely.  She is high energy so be ready to give her lots of attention!  www.trackingintheshadows.com Adoption fee is Sponsored. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. We do not adopt to homes with underground/electric fencing. ##2744713##
