Story
🎸 Meet Ziggy — our little wild child! 🎸Ziggy is an adorable 1-year-old Dachshund/Terrier mix who’s full of energy, charm, and just the right amount of mischief. He’s playful, smart, and knows exactly how to use his cuteness to his advantage! 😉He can be a little shy with new people and might bark at first, but once he warms up, he’s a total lap dog. Ziggy loves other dogs, loves to play, and would make a fun, loving companion for someone who appreciates a little spunk in their sidekick. He was found running as a stray with two other dogs we think were his brothers. He’s still working on house training and will be neutered soon — or can go to a local home on a foster-to-adopt contract in the meantime.💚 Adoption fee: $200 (includes neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and all his vetting!)If you’re ready for a cute, funny, slightly wild best friend, Ziggy can’t wait to meet you!If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@MidwestPetRefuge.com

Story
Meet Fife! Old man Fife is a 8 year old dachshund/JRT mix. This sweet little guy has a lot of love to share❤️🐾. Fife might be a little frosty faced but he still has a lot of energy left! He loves to play with his young foster siblings and occasionally gets the zoomies, enticing his siblings to play. When he gets tired from playtime, Fife loves attention from his people and loves to snuggle. He will slowly crawl over to you asking for pets and belly rubs. Fife does have Addison’s disease that’s managed by daily prednisone and a monthly zycortal injection. Fife is crate trained and potty trained. He gets along well with other dogs. He has not been cats or kid tested at this time. Fife does great on a leash and loves going on walks!Fife is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heart-worm negative, and on regular heartworm prevention. If you’re interested in adopting our sweet old man, head on over to our website at www.pawsofadamscounty.com and submit an adoption application. Story
Meet Merle! This old buddy is 10-11 years old and 35ish lbs. he’s a chill old guy who’s excellent with dogs and cats. He’s low maintenance as they come and the only hitch is he doesn’t have 100% control over his bladder. He happily wears a belly band though so we can’t complain. If you’re looking for an easy going senior companion, this is your guy. Merle is part of our Senior Soulmate Program. If he is adopted by a senior citizen, a generous donor will sponsor his adoption fee, and he will come with six months of heart worm protection.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   October 1, 2025, 7:32 am
