Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Romeo, oh such a suitable name for this goofy, loving dog. Romeo is a 9 year young Dachshund mix. He is great with other dogs and very sociable with humans. Very food motivated and he can hear the cheese wrapper from any distance. Romeo is looking for a permanent home, preferably one without stairs. The coordination in his rear legs is not perfect, but on flat ground he is as fast as the other dogs and he love to run and play wrestle. Romeo is not an early riser, he likes to sleep in on a soft bed close to the warm air vent.  Romeo is incontinent. Romeo has limited bladder control. He leaks urine when his bladder is full. He walks as he pees and is unaware of this, he could wear doggie diapers but he would need to be trained to keep them on. Romeo will not be able to become 100% housebroken due to his neurological problem.** If Romeo is let out often he keeps clean inside most of the time.** Romeo loves his human with ALL his heart . He has lots of needs but lots of love to give. This guy is definitely worth the work. If you think you're that special person who can help Romeo and give him a forever home fill out an application. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Giving up Sasha has not been an easy choice, however with soon to have 3 kids under 3 along with another dog and cat has proved too difficult. Sasha was a rescue who still suffers some PTSD but does well with kids, other dogs and cats. She is 4 years old and about lap size. Very energetic, needs an active home. Requires a lot of attention and may battle for your affection by getting between you and others. But overall loving dog that likes to be active. Understands basic commands, fetch, sit, stay(ish), crate trained, very healthy. Size of dachshund but with Rottweiler coat. Has been an inside dog.

Story
Meet Apple Jacks!  This handsome man has a pretty harrowing background and because of that he believes people are pretty scary. Apple Jacks, or just Jacks for short, will need a special home. Lets get the requirements out of the way before we talk about how great this fella is!   1. His future forever home should have at least one other playful dog. Dogs give Jacks a lot of cofidence and are critical to his happiness.  2. A securely fenced in yard - because he was severly undersocialied, Jacks has no experience on leash and reacts poorly at this stage in his training. He gets very scared, flails, rolls, and tries to bite the leash off of him. While this behavior will improve with time, it's critical for his well being that he have a safe space that he can explore and use the bathroom while he's learning that the leash isn't scary.  3. A home with no young children - Jacks is easily startled and would not feel safe in a home that was excessively noisy or had little hands still learning to understand doggie boundaries. While he has never displayed any reactivity, he is jumpy and will attempt to flee (sometimes knocking down anything in his path) if he gets too startled.  4. Some fur pawrents to give him a whole ton of love and patience. Jacks is a beautiful dog, but he isn't a dog that is going to settle into your home the first day, the first week, or even the first month. His future home will need to be prepared to give him several months to fully decompress, learn routines, and feel safe receiving everyone's love.  Now that we've got the hard stuff out of the way, let me tell you all the wonderful things about Jacks! In time we have had the privlege of fostering him he has very quickly learned several important skills. Firstly, he leared where his crate is, that it's where hot dogs happen, dinner happens, bed time happens, and that he can use it as his safe space. He will now run right to his crate when you tell him crate. He has also picked up potty training rapidly and very rarely has an accident. He very much looks to the other dogs in his foster homes for social cues and learns rapidly from them.  In his current foster home there are two adults (1 M, 1 F) and 5 other dogs. He has warmed up more rapidly to the male in the home and within the very first day here his foster dad was able to pet him. Foster mom quickly followed and now he will comfortably approach for pets or ear scratches. He hasn't progressed to cuddling yet, but we think he's close! He does rest comfortable in the same room with both adult humans with no obvious discomfort and will sit comfortably between the humans while they enjoy evening TV.  Jacks is CRAZY for hot dogs. His foster family will cut hot dogs into small pieces and use them for high value training and Jacks thinks this might be the best thing he's ever experieced - the only thing better is rotiserre chicken! He takes treats patiently in the dog pack, doesn't push or shove, and takes them directly from human hands without incident.  If you think you might be the right person to give Jacks a new beginning, please visit our website for an adoption application: www.happyfeetpetrescue.com.  ##2706977##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi, I’m Tanbo… but my friends call me Snoop! I was adopted as a puppy and sadly found my way back to the rescue due to family circumstances. While that wasn’t the plan, I’m hoping my forever family is still out there waiting for me! I’m a very curious and inquisitive guy—I love to sniff around and investigate everything going on in my world. When I first came back to the rescue, stuffed toys were actually banned for me because I used to immediately shred them. The good news? I’ve improved! I can have them again now… although I’ll admit I still enjoy chewing on them and occasionally pulling some stuffing out. Old habits die hard. When it comes to playmates, I really enjoy dogs that are smaller than me—they’re my kind of crowd! Bigger dogs, though? I’d rather keep my distance. I also tend to chase cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. I would also do best in a home without younger children, as I prefer a calmer environment where I can relax and feel comfortable. One of my favorite things in the world is treats and cuddling with my humans. If you have a blanket, just know it automatically becomes our blanket. In fact, if you see a lump under a blanket on the couch, you might want to check before sitting down… it could be me! Because I only have 21 teeth left, crunchy treats are a little tough for me to chew. Softer chews are my favorite! And since I’m missing a few teeth, my tongue hangs out about 95% of the time, which just adds to my charm. As a senior gentleman, I do have a couple medical conditions. I have Cushing’s disease and low B12, which means I’ll need medication for the rest of my life. I also take a little medicine for separation anxiety when my humans leave, but if you’re just gone for a few hours, I’ll handle it like a champ. What I’m really looking for is a cozy home, some soft treats, a warm blanket, and humans who love to cuddle as much as I do. If that sounds like you, I think we might be a perfect match.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. June 22, 2026, 6:22 pm
