Story
Reed is a handsome purebred Black and Tan Dapple smooth small standard Dachshund. He weighs approx 18 pounds. He has been neutered and is up to date on all vaccs, heartworm test and stool check. Her has also been microchipped. Reed is a shy affectionate boy who is a bit nervous with strangers at first , but warms up quickly. He gets along with other dogs but may chase cats. He will need a refresher on house training and leash walking. I am looking for a patient couple or individual without small children that will give Reed a loving secure home. Previous Dachshund experience is a plus. You must have a secure fenced yard and veterinary reference to adopt this sweet boy. Absolutely no tie outs or invisible fences. Hia adoption fee is $575. Please call or email Marie 248-425-1629 for more information.

Story
Hi my name is Mia! I am a good girl and I am looking for an active owner willing to offer training and exercise, but in return I can offer unconditional love and years of happiness. I’m a sensitive girl, other animals and children under 12 can overwhelm me, so I’d like to be the only one in your life. I do have some big feelings about some things in this world and tend to express this by reacting with barking and may be a bit too much for some families. I will need to continue my training and HSHV offers classes for dogs like me! Visit www.hshv.org for more information.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Romeo, oh such a suitable name for this goofy, loving dog. Romeo is a 9 year young Dachshund mix. He is great with other dogs and very sociable with humans. Very food motivated and he can hear the cheese wrapper from any distance. Romeo is looking for a permanent home, preferably one without stairs. The coordination in his rear legs is not perfect, but on flat ground he is as fast as the other dogs and he love to run and play wrestle. Romeo is not an early riser, he likes to sleep in on a soft bed close to the warm air vent.  Romeo is incontinent. Romeo has limited bladder control. He leaks urine when his bladder is full. He walks as he pees and is unaware of this, he could wear doggie diapers but he would need to be trained to keep them on. Romeo will not be able to become 100% housebroken due to his neurological problem.** If Romeo is let out often he keeps clean inside most of the time.** Romeo loves his human with ALL his heart . He has lots of needs but lots of love to give. This guy is definitely worth the work. If you think you're that special person who can help Romeo and give him a forever home fill out an application. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Giving up Sasha has not been an easy choice, however with soon to have 3 kids under 3 along with another dog and cat has proved too difficult. Sasha was a rescue who still suffers some PTSD but does well with kids, other dogs and cats. She is 4 years old and about lap size. Very energetic, needs an active home. Requires a lot of attention and may battle for your affection by getting between you and others. But overall loving dog that likes to be active. Understands basic commands, fetch, sit, stay(ish), crate trained, very healthy. Size of dachshund but with Rottweiler coat. Has been an inside dog.

Story
If you are looking for a professional true crime watcher and lap sitter look no further! Since you’re reading this, you’re obviously looking for a new best friend and, hey, so am I! My name is Buddy, and I am an adorable, incredibly affectionate Dachshund who is also a very young 7-ish years old. I would describe myself as medium sized however my current foster Mom thinks I’m a little chonky. I DO love snacks and am very food motivated. She has said that I am very handsome, stunning with loving eyes and love kissing her and giving her all the affection and kisses. I DO enjoy baths and love the attention that I receive on spa days! I have a unique personality, and nothing makes me happier than seeing someone reach for a leash and or lead to take me outside for a walk or just to play and roll in the grass. I am still working on my leash manners and I foresee in time, being able to be more patient and allow you to keep up with me. I have enjoyed roaming in the fenced in yard and smelling the roses, literally. I am happy to load up into the vehicle and go for rides. I love looking out the windows and sight seeing!During the day, while my foster folks are at work, I am happy to lay around my open crate in the same room with my foster sister while we wait for them to come home. I am learning to not jump when we get company or someone comes over due to my excitement and will, with patience, learn to be calmer. I slept in the crate at night a couple of times, but my foster mom got lonely, so I got in bed with her and my foster sister (she is 70 pounds! Talk about chonky!).I do seem to get along well with other dogs and recently went for a nail trim and there were several dogs there to meet and greet, and we all seemed to like each other and get along. The groomer and I bonded instantly, and I do make friends quickly. I am interested in the cat here, where I stay, but she doesn’t like me…you know how uppity some cats can be. I think my ideal human(s) would be either a quiet older person or a retired couple who could devote their time to me. I bond strongly with my special person and am looking for someone who can be home with me, and we can solve true crime shows together. I don’t care for sudden movements or loud noises and will be discerning about new people, so I don’t think that I would like to be around small children. I think that small people and their energy may be overwhelming to me, but I hear that’s typical for pups like me. I am a very smart boy who prefers routine and will alert (bark) when I want to go outside to potty or just get out of the house, of course I know that a treat is coming when I’ve been a “good boy”. So, what do you say? Wanna give it a try? I really need a bestie and someone to watch TV with. Please reach out soon!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN.
