Story
Meet Scruffy, the loveable wire-haired dachshund who will steal your heart with her wagging tail and cute scruffy face.  A loyal companion who’s always by your side and loves belly rubs, treats and to snuggle. Scruffy is 7 years old, Spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, had a dental and has a clean bill of health. She is approximately 16 lbs.  She is good with other dogs, but her ideal fur sibling(s) (if applicable) would have a more passive personality. She does well with respectable children. Scruffy is potty and crate trained.  She is a typical dauchshund that needs a bit to warm up with new people - Getting down to her level and treats help!  But once she’s warmed up you’ll be inseparable and her new best friend. Her ideal home is someone who is not gone for long periods of time, willing to go for walks or has a fenced in yard.  She loves to explore!  She’s happiest at night sleeping at the foot of the bed with her family pack. She is the best girl and sure to provide unconditional love and devotion to her new family. Scruffy is being fostered in St. Louis County Missouri Her adoption fee is $325. Apply at istodaymydayrescue.org.

Story
Hi, I'm Nora! I'm an 8 year old girl that is special needs. I have diabetes insipidus which you can read more about online but basically it is not treated with insulin. Currently I am on a medication for it twice daily and it seems to be helping. I'm a sweet girl but not a fan of other animals so I'm looking to be your one and only. What do you say? Take a senior girly home and love me forever.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2620129##

Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet January – Tiny Package, Giant Heart ❄️🐾 2 years old • 8 lbs • Dachshund/Min Pin mix Don’t let her petite size fool you — January may weigh in at just 8 pounds, but she’s carrying around enough love to fill a whole house. This little black-and-tan sweetheart is gentle, soft-natured, and delightfully dainty. When she first meets new people, January can be a touch shy… but give her about 30 seconds and a kind word, and suddenly she’s your loyal best friend forever. Think of her as a slow-blooming flower with a very enthusiastic tail. Once she feels comfortable, January is all about quiet cuddles, cozy naps, and sticking close to her favorite humans like the world’s cutest little shadow. She’s not loud, she’s not demanding, and she definitely doesn’t need to be the center of attention — she’s just happy to be included. January’s Resume (and it’s impressive): • Great with other dogs • Friendly with cats • Wonderful with kids and adults • House trained and dog-door savvy • Up to date on vaccines • Professional couch companion Around the house, January is an easygoing, low-maintenance kind of gal. She’s got the whole “house manners” thing down and fits beautifully into a routine. Basically, she’s the roommate we all wish we had — tidy, polite, and never eats the last slice of pizza. Her idea of a perfect day? A little sunshine, a few gentle head scratches, maybe a short stroll, and a soft spot next to you on the couch. She’s not looking for wild adventures — she’s looking for a forever person to adore. If you’re hoping for a sweet, loving little companion who will quietly steal your heart (and maybe your favorite blanket), January just might be your perfect match. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let this tiny treasure warm up your world! 💛🐾
