Hi there! I am a lovable little puppy! Even though I am cute as a button I will take some work as I adjust into my new home. Don`t get me wrong, we will have a lot of fun in the meantime but I will need time to understand what`s expected of me. I will need help on all those fun puppy things like house training and basic obedience. I want to learn everything I possibly can. I am pretty excited about life and doing new things! My goal is to be your lifelong companion and I should learn quickly with praise, treats and little patience. I`d really love for us to get enrolled in training classes, after all school is the best way to get us both educated on what it takes to raise a puppy! Meet Twill! Twill is an adorable 2½-month-old, 4 pound male long-haired, brown and tan Dachshund puppy who is simply too precious for words! His first week in rescue has been a whirlwind of intake, vet visits, and settling into his foster home—but he has handled it all like a champ while soaking up every bit of love and attention along the way. At the vet, Twill received a thorough exam and checked out great. He’s a healthy little guy who is up to date on his current puppy vaccinations (with a few still to come). He has also received deworming medication and has started heartworm prevention. Twill has a healthy appetite and loves his Fromm Puppy food. Like many puppies, he enjoys a mix of relaxing and playtime—he can be a bit of a couch potato with short bursts of puppy energy, followed by lots of snuggle time. His absolute favorite activity is finding an open lap and crawling right into it! He’s beginning to learn how to play with toys and enjoys spending time with his foster sister. Twill is a very happy, friendly puppy who loves people and companionship. He has been sleeping in his puppy pen and has been a good sleeper so far. Twill’s life goal is simple: to be as close to his humans as possible. That’s where he’s happiest! A note for potential adopters: Twill loves being underfoot and very close to his people, which can make him a bit of a trip hazard. For that reason, he may not be the best fit for homes with toddlers or individuals with mobility challenges. This recommendation is made for the safety of both Twill and his future family. Leia’s hope is a volunteer run, Foster – based rescue. All of our dogs live in foster homes. Applications typically take 7 to 10 business days to process, meet and greets are scheduled only after an application is approved. We do not transport dogs. Adapters must travel to the dogs location in Troy, Missouri for meet & greet and adoption. Twill is a 15 year commitment, and his adopter must be prepared to love and support him for his lifetime. Rusty Wallace is a 4 year old dauchshund mix. Rusty is house trained, cat and dog friendly, and enjoys human companions of all ages. If in a home with children, they need to be older children that understand Rusty's needs noted below. He loves car rides. He sleeps in bed with his human but will also sleep in a kennel. He loves to burrow so blankets are a must! Rusty came back into rescue severally overweight. You can see that in his before and after photo in his bio. He worked hard and is now back to a healthy weight and just needs to maintain. Rusty requires a home with no steps or minimal steps. He is currently in a home that has mostly single steps and where there are two steps, he has a ramp. He had to have spinal surgery so limited steps are a must. Steps are also needed for him to get on and off the couch and bed. Rusty has seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. He is taking meds three times a day to prevent them. The meds do cause him to be extremely needy. He is very vocal until his needs are met. Rusty Wallace’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
