Story
Approx. DOB:7/4/2019                 Approx. Weight: 11 lbs Adoption Fee: $275 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness!  Meet Lilyanne! Lilyanne is a 7-year-old Miniature Dachshund with a big personality packed into one adorable little body! More than anything, Lilyanne wants her person. She absolutely soaks up attention and affection and will happily follow you from room to room because, in her mind, whatever you're doing is definitely something she should be a part of! If you're looking for a little shadow and devoted companion, Lilyanne may be your girl. Lilyanne gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, although she isn't shy about voicing her opinion—to her foster family, the other dogs, or sometimes just because she has something to say! We think she would be happiest sharing her home with calm or more submissive canine friends who won't mind her confident little personality. She's a sweet, spunky and pretty fearless girl who seems completely unaware that she's a tiny dog. Lilyanne loves her chew toys, enjoys exploring the backyard, and gets super excited for car rides. She also walks fairly well on a leash and enjoys getting out and about with her people. Lilyanne is mostly housetrained and is also very good about using potty pads. She's a healthy eater and has gained a couple of pounds that she needed when she first arrived. She's now at a great weight, so her new family will want to measure her meals to help keep her trim and healthy. Lilyanne has already had some important medical care while with us. She has been spayed, had an umbilical hernia repaired, and received a dental cleaning. Now she's ready to put all of that behind her and concentrate on the important stuff—finding someone to love and adore for the rest of her life. Because she's a tiny lady with a bold personality, we're looking for a home with children age 10 or older. Lilyanne doesn't ask for much—just a person of her own, plenty of love and attention, some good chew toys, and a spot right beside you. ❤️ If you're looking for a loyal little companion who wants to be involved in every part of your day, Lilyanne is ready to fill that position! I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.   Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Location- -Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I`d love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me!My Friends at Wayside say:-I am enrolled in LIFT University. This is a program for dogs to build confidence in new situations and work on managing energy. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session.-I’m a shy dog and need someone willing to be patient with me.-Once I get comfortable with someone, I can be quite the cuddle bug!- Balls, squeaky toys, rope toys, I love them all! -I have displayed some touch sensitivities. Ask our staff for more info!My home needs are:-I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies. Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days so we can meet!-As I continue to build my confidence with new people, I need a home with at least one resident female family member who can be present for all introductions.-Wayside requires bringing the whole family out to meet me before adoption - new people can make me a little nervous.-For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.-I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises.-I`m going on a Slumber Pawty! A 7-10 day in-home trial is required before adoption if another dog is present in the home, so we can make sure it`s the perfect fit for both of us. Please visit our website for more details.

Approx. DOB: 7/11/2026                        Current Weight(as of 9/24/26): 8 Lbs Adoption Fee: $275 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Meet Nellie! Born 7/11/26 | Beagle Mix | Female Nellie is a sweet, energetic Beagle mix puppy with an adorable personality! She can be a little shy when first meeting someone, but give her a little time to get comfortable and her fun, lovable personality quickly starts to shine. Nellie is your typical happy, excitable puppy who loves to play, explore, and PLAY WITH TOYS! Toys may actually be one of her favorite things in the world. When she gets excited, the zoomies kick in—and there’s a good chance she’ll be racing around with a toy bigger than she is hanging out of her mouth! She also loves playing with her foster sister and enjoys having another dog around to romp and learn from. Nellie is doing great with her puppy skills. She is crate trained and sleeps through the night in her crate. She’s working hard on potty training and is doing well going outside. She already gets excited when her foster mom grabs the leash because she knows it means it’s time to head outdoors! She has had a few accidents inside, but she’s smart enough to seek out the potty pads when needed. This clever little girl comes when called and is currently working on “sit” and “stay.” She still has plenty to learn, but she’s a smart pup who should do wonderfully with continued patience, consistency, and training. And after all that puppy fun? Nellie is a fantastic cuddler! Her favorite place to settle in for a nap is right on her foster mom’s lap. ❤️ Nellie is smart, playful, affectionate, and full of puppy enthusiasm. With a family willing to continue her training and give her all the love she deserves, she’s going to grow into a wonderful companion! Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch. Born 7/11/26 | Beagle Mix | Female Neva may be a little girl, but she has a BIG personality and a whole lot of love to give! This adorable Beagle mix puppy is playful, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. Neva loves running around, playing with her favorite toys, and having fun with her furry friends. She’s full of puppy energy, but once playtime is over, she’s happy to work on another very important puppy skill—becoming an expert cuddler! ❤️ Like any young puppy, Neva is still learning. She’s currently working hard on potty training and her puppy manners and will need a family willing to continue helping her learn with patience and consistency. Neva will need another dog in her forever home to be her companion, playmate, and help build her confidence. She will also need a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, explore, and put that Beagle nose to work! Neva is sweet, silly, playful, and ready to grow up with a family of her very own. She may be tiny now, but she has enough love and personality to fill an entire house!
