Forever Home Needed for Sam 🐾 Meet Sam, a sweet 5-year-old Dachshund (Doxie) mix who is urgently looking for a loving forever home. Poor Sam was dropped off at a veterinary clinic and, unfortunately, cannot live at a vet hospital long-term. He truly needs a home where he can settle in, feel safe, and be part of a family. Sam is a neutered male who eats well, is fully potty trained, and has great house manners. He is dog friendly and loves everyone he meets, quickly winning hearts with his gentle, affectionate personality. Everyone who meets him describes him as a really sweet little guy. Sam does have one ongoing medical need: he is diabetic and requires 1 unit of insulin twice daily. He does well on his routine, but because of this, we are looking for a family with prior experience caring for a diabetic dog, or one willing to confidently manage his care. With consistency and love, Sam can live a happy, comfortable life. If you have a calm home, a steady routine, and a big heart for a dog who truly needs a second chance, Sam would be so grateful to meet you. If you are interested in meeting Sam, please fill out an adoption interest form on our website and the foster will get back to you shortly. Adoption fees and home checks apply.

Story
Cici is a wonderful dog who is sweet and loving and definitely gets attached to her humans. She’ll do best in a home that is retired or works from home as she does have some separation anxiety. Once she is comfortable, those were subside. She she likes to go on walks and loves to sleep with her humans. She just got a dental cleaning so her teeth are in perfect condition. She does best with submissive dogs that just allow her to be bossy. She needs an owner that understands the dachshund and rat terrier trait. She does have stranger danger, which is common with the dachshund breed so we need someone who understands that she gets very intimidated by strangers but as soon as they come into the house and they’re accepted, she does fine.

Story
Meet Squirt 🐾 Squirt came into my care as an emergency overnight foster on July 4th, 2023, along with her female pit bull buddy. Sadly, no one ever came back for them. About a year later, her pittie companion passed away from mammary cancer, leaving little Squirt without her best friend but she kept her sweet spirit and kept going strong. Squirt is a 4–5-year-old blonde Chiweenie (Dachshund/Chihuahua mix) with the most striking golden eyes and a truly unique look. She may be small, but she has a big personality! Squirt is playful and confident and doesn’t mind interacting with dogs much larger than herself. Her feelings about cats are still unknown. She would likely thrive with a loving family and children age 4+ who can play with her, but she would also make a wonderful companion for an older adult looking for a loyal little sidekick. Squirt is housebroken and walks nicely on a leash once the initial excitement of being outside settles down. She has recently started crate training it’s not her favorite place yet, but she settles fairly quickly. Her favorite things include: ☀️ Being around her people 🌳 Playing outside 😴 Taking cozy naps in the sun Squirt is truly a lovely, lively little dog with a lot of character and heart, and she’s ready to find a forever home where she can be loved the way she deserves.

Story
Meet Tony… again! 🐾 Tony had his first meet-and-greet yesterday, and we learned something new about him — he’s a little fearful of men. We’re not sure if this comes from a past experience or simply not being around men much before, but he definitely told us he prefers the company of the ladies right now. Because of this, Tony would do best in an all-female household or a co-ed home with a very patient man who is willing to give Tony the time and space he needs to build trust. Aside from that, Tony is truly a wonderful little dachshund. He is: • Potty trained • Good on a leash • Excellent with other dogs He hasn’t been around large breed dogs yet, but he absolutely loves to cuddle, eat, and soak up attention. Tony would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time, and he would also do just fine as an only dog soaking up all the love. Other than needing a little patience with men, Tony is your typical charming dachshund who’s ready to steal your heart. If you’d like to meet Tony, please fill out an application using the link below. 🐶❤️
