Story
My boyfriend and I adopted Buddy from the SPCA for him to have a dog. He has wanted one for a long time. Buddy is 7 months old. He needs a family that has high energy. Buddy has separation anxiety. He also has anxiety in the car, but he is fine in a group of people and very friendly. He is in his chewing phase. He loves toys and soft treats. He is potty trained to paper. He should be easy to transfer outside. I just haven't had time to do it. I'm rehoming him because my boyfriend is very sick and I'm just too old to care for a puppy.

Charlie is a sweet dog and very loving. He is intelligent and will do anything. He is a great companion. My son became sick and we have been going hospital to hospital and have not had time to dedicate to our dogs. It would be nice if he could be adopted with his best friend a Basset hound named George.

Story
Meet Rowan Burrowshanks!! Rowan has been rehabilitating with Wagging Tails rescue for just over a year. He is an approximately 8 year old long-haired chocolate dachshund weighing in at about 16 pounds. When he arrived, he was unable to use his rear legs or urinate on his own because of an untreated spinal injury, which is unfortunately common with this breed. Since then, he has received chiropractic and holistic care from the wonderful Dr. Bradshaw with Agape Animal Chiropractic as well as physical therapy at home with his foster mom and is WALKING again!!!! He has gained back about 75% of his ability to urinate on his own. His foster mom still expresses his bladder 1-2 times a day, but he is usually able to get most of his tinkles out by himself. We just do the additional expression to help prevent urinary tract infections. He is able to poo on his own, but it's occasionally a surprise to him when it shows up, so there are times when he may have an accident in the home.Rowan is a quirky guy, so will require a special forever family. He's a genuinely happy little dude, but is socially awkward. He gives warning nips when he is uncomfortable or frightened, so we do not recommend a home with children. Since he needs his bladder expressed, we would prefer a home with someone who has experience doing so, since he will be quick to correct anyone who is causing him pain or discomfort. He does not like to be picked up because of his back issue, but he's happy to chill out on a fluffy blanket or dog bed at your feet. Now that he can walk again, his tail is always wagging.Rowan is somewhat slow to warm up to new people, but if you are patient with him, he will soon be asking for endless belly rubs, and will stare into your eyes like you're the only human in the world. He loves squeaky toys, smooshy beds, blankets, naps, and like most dachshunds, he was born with a German engineered early warning system pre-installed, so you will never need a doorbell again! He is well-behaved at bath-time, and very much enjoys being blow-dried after his baths. He's a master napping buddy and will be forever loyal to you if you can show him kindness, patience, and understanding. He gets along well with the other dachshunds and small dogs in his foster home, but gets nervous with bigger dogs. He doesn't really show interest in playing with the other dogs, so he would be fine as an only dog. He cannot go up and down stairs or ramps because of his back, so a one-story home would be best for him. We know Rowan isn't everyone's idea of a perfect dog, but he deserves to have a forever family just like any other "normal" dog. Are you his perfect match? Please send in an application at www.waggingtailsrescue.org

Story
Hi, I’m Sadie! I’m a Dachshund mix weighing about 20 lbs and will be 5 years old in the spring. I am very affectionate and love to snuggle. I am easy to take care of, I love to sleep in, and I don’t bark. I only need a few walks a day to take care of business and smell the outdoors. All my shots are current, I’m spayed and I’m house-trained. I’m loyal and also protective of my owner, which sometimes makes me growl at other dogs that I don’t know, so it’s best to keep me at a distance from them. I can also be a little shy around strangers, and I like the chance to warm up to them first. My current owner is getting up in years and can’t take me for walks anymore, so I’m starting to put on some weight. I would benefit from a younger owner who can take me for longer walks. I'm used to being the only dog in the house and, although I get along okay with most other dogs, I really want to be your one-and-only. I think a fenced yard would also be good for me. Are you ready for a sweet, loving dog who is happy to curl up by your side all day long? Here I am! Sadie is good with adults and older/considerate/gentle kids; good in the car; likes to be in your lap; affectionate; obedient and eager to please; intelligent; even-tempered and gentle. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Sadie, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form.

Story
💔 Peanut Needs a New Foster Home 💔 13-Year-Old Dachshund | Foster or Forever Home Needed Peanut is a 13-year-old male Dachshund who has been in rescue for a long time… patiently waiting for someone to give him a chance. Until now, he’s been lucky to have a loving long-term foster—but due to unexpected changes, they can no longer keep him. Now Peanut urgently needs a new foster home while he continues to wait for his forever family. He’s a calm, well-behaved little guy—as long as he’s the only pet in the home. Peanut loves treats, soft beds, and having a person/people all to himself. He’s been overlooked for so long, and it breaks our hearts to see him in limbo again. 💔 We provide everything you need—you provide the love. Please consider opening your heart to this sweet senior boy. He deserves comfort, stability, and someone to call his own. If you are interested in fostering Peanut, please fill out a foster application here https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/PDR/Dog, write Peanut in the additional comments section, and we will call you upon receipt of your application. If you are interested in adopting Peanut 😍, please fill out an adoption application on our website at PawsitiveDifference.org or send us an email at Adopt@PAWsitivedifference.org.
