Jacqui has a mellow temperament, perfect for a calm and relaxing home environment. She's nearly house trained, demonstrating her eagerness to please and adapt. Smart Jacqui is crate trained and walks great on the leash! She's a gem, 100% precious and brimming with love. Jacqui's world revolves around companionship and she's ready to share her affection with a new family. Adopt Jacqui to experience the unconditional love and loyalty that only a pet like her can offer. Jacqui’s story: Found as a stray with a male and their daughter. Male was placed with a Basset Rescue, daughter was adopted. Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for heartworm disease. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and will be ready to travel north and be placed into an adoptive home. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment and is expected to complete treatment with no complications.
