Lucy Sissy Henson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Lucy Sissy is very shy and is a BITE risk.  She will need a patient and understanding adopter to give her a lot time and space to warm up.  She has never known the love of humans, used by a breeder then dumped in a shelter people are very scary.   If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! FENCED YARD REQUIRED Adoption Donation   $ 399   Located:  RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: 10 mos. old      Meet Leo!   Leo is a 10-month-old Dachshund/Hound mix with the cutest little face and the biggest personality! This silly boy is full of energy, curiosity, and love — basically a furry toddler who keeps life exciting.  Leo would   love   a fenced-in yard where he can zoom around and explore, and he’d be thrilled to have another playful dog (or a few!) to wrestle and romp with. He’s all about fun, cuddles, and a little bit of mischief — you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on your shoes, because this charming “devil child” likes to test his limits in the most adorable way.  No condo or apartment living for this boy as he is very vocal.  Leo is working with a trainer on stranger danger. He becomes vocal and will retreat.  The trainer feels he is best suited for an older, energetic retired or work from home couple.     With his goofy grin and happy heart, Leo will bring laughter and love to any family lucky enough to call him theirs.     *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. All puppies will have age appropriate vaccinations.  All small Pups need to be adopted by by children old enough to understand how to be respectful and gentle in handling a small young pup. ***     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information: save4pawz@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.       Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Victor! Victor is approximately 8 years old, 20 lbs currently and he might have some Dachshund in his mix! In his foster home, he is working hard on his house training, crate training and leash walking. He could go to a home with kids 10+, and other small calm dogs. He has not been exposed to cats. He is initially shy particularly with men and needs a home that will give him time to settle in.His foster says, `Vic is very alert and notices everything. When we are out walking he’s aware of everything around us, often looking for a car when it’s blocks away. He watches my dogs and when he sees them doing something that elicits praise, he does the same thing. I have a room near my side door where we go out that has two steps up to it. My shih tzu goes up the steps up have his harness put on, and after observing this, Vic with no encouragement began to do the same thing. I do have a fenced yard, and he loves going out for a run with my dogs. He also enjoyed visiting a dog park with my dogs. He was always aware of my location and looked up frequently to make sure that I was there. He loves to snuggle and follows me from room to room when I’m cleaning, cooking, or doing laundry. When we go for walks, he matches his walking speed to mine and looks up frequently. The only times he pulls are when he sees a cat or a squirrel. Vic is a smart, sweet dog who just wants to be loved. When told he’s a good boy he wags his tail so hard that his whole back ends goes with it.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth mid to late January. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com
