Story
Meet Daisy! An older, gentler soul that is looking for a quiet, low-traffic home that she can call her own. Daisy can take some time to warm up to new people and new environments, but once she does, she is an absolute lap dog. She is quick to demand your attention by gently pawing at your leg for love. Daisy does best with dogs her size and her temperament, larger/energetic dogs are a bit too much for her at this point. She also gets along well with cats, which makes sense since her personality resembles one. If you are interested in Daisy, please call us here at (401)846-8276. You are welcome to stop by our Animal Care and Adoption Center here in Middletown, RI to meet with her at any time. Feel free to visit our website, www.potterleague.org, for more information on adopting from us.

FENCED YARD REQUIRED Adoption Donation   $ 399   Located:  RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: 10 mos. old      Meet Leo!   Leo is a 10-month-old Dachshund/Hound mix with the cutest little face and the biggest personality! This silly boy is full of energy, curiosity, and love — basically a furry toddler who keeps life exciting.  Leo would   love   a fenced-in yard where he can zoom around and explore, and he’d be thrilled to have another playful dog (or a few!) to wrestle and romp with. He’s all about fun, cuddles, and a little bit of mischief — you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on your shoes, because this charming “devil child” likes to test his limits in the most adorable way.  No condo or apartment living for this boy as he is very vocal.  Leo is working with a trainer on stranger danger. He becomes vocal and will retreat.  The trainer feels he is best suited for an older, energetic retired or work from home couple.     With his goofy grin and happy heart, Leo will bring laughter and love to any family lucky enough to call him theirs.     *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. All puppies will have age appropriate vaccinations.  All small Pups need to be adopted by by children old enough to understand how to be respectful and gentle in handling a small young pup. ***     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information: save4pawz@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.       Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Age:   approx 3 years old   Weight: 26  lbs My adoption fee is $ 575  which includes transportation charges to the Northeast. Check out this Awesome Blossom! Blossom is now in foster in Rhode Island and all set for adoption!  And she has come a long way to get here.  This 3 year old, 26 pound Dachshund mix wandered up heavily pregnant to a home in Texas but the homeowners did not allow dogs indoors and refused her care.  A wonderful volunteer with our Texas partner stepped up for Blossom and two days later she had five gorgeous puppies, who were eventually weaned and adopted.  When it was time for Blossom to be spayed, she was found to be heartworm positive, so needed to undergo treatment.  Now she is SITTING ON GO, spayed, treated and ready for a bright future. This lady has a stunning and unique black/brown coat that changes color according to the light!  Her Texas rescuers call her one of the sweetest dogs they have ever met.  She enjoys meeting people, gets along with other dogs, and has done well with cats.  Blossom is crate trained and appears to have her house training established Blossom is a gentle, calm girl and would be a wonderful companion for most anyone.   If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/December 2, 2025, 6:44 pm

Meet Flossy & Fancy — Two Adorable Dachshund/Terrier Mix Puppies! Adoption Fee: $499 Adoption Application - Copy & Paste https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 Flossy and Fancy are two precious sisters from a litter of three little girls. Their sister Daphne has already been adopted, and now these two cuties are hoping their forever families find them next! These puppies have an incredible rescue story. All three were found abandoned under a bridge in the deep South, frightened and alone, until a kind-hearted good Samaritan spotted them and brought them safely into rescue. They’ve been loved and cared for ever since and are now thriving, happy little puppies. About the Girls: • Fancy – The scruffy one of the bunch! She has an adorable wire-haired coat and the sweetest expression. Fancy is playful, cuddly, and full of personality. • Flossy – Smooth-coated and beautiful! Flossy is just as loving, gentle, and sweet as her sister — her sleek coat and soft eyes make her irresistible. Both puppies are friendly, affectionate, and ready to bring joy to their new homes. They love attention, playtime, and being close to their people. They would do wonderfully with families, other pets, or anyone looking for a loyal little companion.
